Q:

I’m familiar with what all of the display options affect except for one: Environment. What kinds of things does this alter? Does anyone have any examples? On low, the snow disappears on the floor of the citadel in WvW. I haven’t found a difference between medium and high. I’m quite savvy about rendering schemes, but I can’t tell what changes between these settings. Thanks.

I can’t recall of the top of my head and I personally never used anything but high, however if you hover your mouse over that setting a little pop-up will describe what each value does.

I believe the difference between high and medium is ground clutter. Grass, weeds, maybe smoke effects and such.

I’m not 100% sure though and would like a more definitive answer myself.

It just describes the setting when I hover over it. It doesn’t list the differences in this one. (Other settings do though). I did notice that on high, my character leaves footprints in the snow, and on medium, it does not.

On medium, my computer contracts a pounding headache. Says it’s fine, but I don’t believe it, no.

On high, it begins to beg for its life and apologizes profusely for things I’ve never been aware of.

More research on the matter must be conducted.
