Q:

I have a female friend that has been watching me play and would like to try the game. She has 0 mmo/pc game experience. She’s only played stuff like Pokemon, Mario, tetris. I.e. what class is the easiest and requires the least movement/switching/multitasking to play?

For PvE I’m assuming? Warrior gets my vote.

Warrior. Let her do the GS + 5 sigils + Deep Strike to adjust to the game, but make sure she learns mechanics and stuff, since that build will fade around L50, and she’ll need to invest in other stuff to perform.

As I said in the other thread warrior gets my vote as the simplest, but I think she should go with whatever she thinks is the most fun.

When you get into it Pokemon has some pretty complicated mechanics (especially when you’re dealing with things like Effort Values and Individual Values) so depending on how into it she is she might well find Gw2 relatively easy to get the hang of by comparison.

My wife found ranger the easiest though she stopped playing because she didn’t like the design style

Warrior is probably the one you can go the furthest with efficiently, with the least amount of changes through the levels and “skills” to learn.

It can be played better than that, of course, but compared to how much you need to learn for a mesmer, engineer or thief to just go through the 15-35 stretch without frustration, it’s arguably the easiest.

Warrior can be in your face melee using just three or four skills and a heal and no weapon swapping and still make it through an area two levels higher.
It’s not as much about skill cap though which can be high up on all classes, especially in PvP, it’s more entry level skill requirments you’re talking about.

If you want to ease her into the whole dodging thing, definitely Ranger. No other class let’s me just stand still and pew pew as often as Ranger does, and if she enjoyed Pokemon, she might like the idea of collecting all the pets and choosing which ones work best for her.
