Q:
Mac Book Pro question.
A friend of mine has a PC and a Mac Book Pro with the exact chip you just mentioned and he’s telling me that it’s running smoothly enough.
He said that it’s a lot better on his PC but it’s fine on Mac as well.
At least if you install Windows via bootcamp and play on the bootcamp partition (under Windows), it runs pretty smoothly at low to medium settings (on my 2010 Macbook Pro, probably better in a newer Macbook). Definitely playable, did so for almost a year.
The Mac-Version of the client is still pretty slow I think.
Currently playing on an imac or Macbook Pro with bootcamp. I play Guildwars on both platforms. I prefer playing Guildwars on Windows as that seems to be the smoothest. Guildwars on OSX seems fine, although the latest update does seem to be slightly laggy when running across the map (it seems to run fine for a bit and then slightly pauses as it seems to catch up). Its fine in combat, you may want to turn your mouse sensitivity down
You should read over this forum for info on how it performs and bugs.

Read over a lot of it. For the most part the Mac client works decent but communication from Anet related to the client is terrible. F- to be exact.
