Guild Wars 2

After today’s patch the only explorer title i need to get is maguuma explorer.
Its currently at 164/165.

My question is: is it normal that the Golemagical Institute does not count towards the maguuma explorer?

Because when i discovered it i didnt get any point.

I hope someone can confirm this, or confirm it as a bug so that i dont waste any time trying to get my last area.

I am at 164/165 now too. Was at 161 and found 3 more. 2 which I could tell from looking at the map. 1 at the border of the map by comparing it to other maps that had locations in them.

Still missing one now. Don’t know about the golemacigal research institute since I already had that. Would have checked it. Are you sure you did not uncover it with another char already?

Not sure if you guys have a fix, but I’m also stuck at 164/165. All my other explore titles were at or above the point they were lowered to, but Maguuma is still sticking. After the patch, I revealed both the Golemagical Institute and Calx’s Hideout, but neither of those added a point to my title (it should be noted, I had been to both on my Asuran character, just not on the Sylvari who has revealed the rest of the map).

Hey, can you guys eventually help me.
I am at 163/165 but i cant find the last one for 164 or 2, if it’s not bugged.
I compared all cards with the ones from http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page but they are identical with mine. Is there something missing on the wiki maps or am I just blind.

Not sure if this helps other people, but I finally got 165/165 tonight.

Maguuma areas include : Sparkfly Fen (23) + Metrica Province (25) + Mount Maelstrom (24)+ Caledon Forest (21) + The Grove (25) + Rata Sum (25) + Brisban Wildlands (22)

I spent hours counting them all and found the missing one for me in Brisban Wildlands. It was called Auroras Remains and was VERY hard to spot on the map, as it doesn’t “line up” with the edge. So visually, you can overlook it.

bunny, can you post your metrica province map? you said there’s 25 zoned in it, but all the maps I’ve seen only show 24. I’m missing one area, and I think that’s the one.

Bunny thank You very much for info, we had the same problem with my firend, we spend like hours trying to find all places. Now our problem is gone, hope that karma will grant you like 500 ectos or so ;)

@ Garrix ; My map for Metrica Province is the same as the one posted on the official Wiki with ONE exception! The image on the wiki is missing Calx’s Hideout. I will post a link to the Wiki map, and the information about how to find Calx’s Hideout :

Thanks for the info regarding Mount Maelstrom, Bunny. My last area was Cubular Fells in the northwest corner. Very hard to make out.

So weird it’s now 166 total and I’m stuck at 165/166. Does anyone know which zone they added an area to?

You may be missing the hidden garden in the northeast of Mount Maelstrom. You have to defeat either one of 4 keepers to enter it.

There’s a trick to find these hidden areas with the wiki.

First, you explore 100% the map’s points. Then, you go to the wiki page of the map and check the list of areas. Many maps have areas that have no points in them. Maybe just a puzzle.
Since you always reveal areas in which you make the points, those are the only areas you are missing.
If you have those areas in your map, you have the whole map. If you are missing any, check the map in the wiki for those spots.

For example, in Metrica Province, you’ll see that Golemagical Institute, Calx’s Hideout, Fisher’s Beach Bend and The Serpentwind.
These are the missable areas of the map, as you can get 100% of the map without revealing these.

I also edited the header template for location tables in the wiki so you can sort areas by map completion column. So all areas with a — appear next to each other and they are easier to see.
Note that you still have to watch out for areas with just a jumping puzzle inside, as they don’t have a — symbol. They’ll have a puzzle piece instead.

I was at 165/166 Maguuma after getting my world explorer star and finishing all story line and jumping puzzles. The last point I discovered was “Aurora’s Remains” Which is in Brisban Wildlands, west by southwest of the ulta metamagicals waypoint, directly north of the western most skillpoint, north of Toxal Bog.

This guide lists 166 areas for Maguuma so try checking against this. Be sure to click on the [show] link and not the area name to get the proper list up.

I know this is an old post, but man did it help me, I was pulling my hair out trying to find the last missing location for maguuma explorer and Clax’s Hideout was it.

Thanks so much! I was missing a couple and this thread helped me along! But, I was still missing one, so I thought I’d put it here in case anyone is still looking. It was the Proxemics lab in the NW corner of Brisban Wildlands. It is a guild puzzle area, but you don’t need to enter the instance to get the location.
