So, as usual, as the game moves on, the old ways of making money become obsolete. Auric Basin got shut down, SW died…I was just wondering, what are some of the new ways to make money in GW2, besides converting gems to gold?

Thought players moved back to SW after AB Multi was shut down. There’s always gathering and selling higher priced, high in demand mats.

How do I know what’s high in demand? Is it just always T4 mats?

You could check the Trading Post, or one of the many sites that track items on the TP, or look in the Wiki…

You could try Googling ‘Making Gold in GW2’. /shrug

I don’t think Auric Basin nor The Silverwastes are dead. Always plenty of players there when I go. Or, try some of the newer maps; leather usually sells pretty well.

Unbound magic can get you an awful lot of neat things. Lots of people farming those maps.

SW never died, it was just the behemoth that is Auric Basin that loomed for a long time. Now that the Auric Basin is as useless as the other HoT maps, SW is pretty active again.

Could you elaborate on how to get a permastealth thief? And also, I thought that the final chest’s event level had no impact on the actual reward? :O Does it now?

Labyrinth (Tier 3) gives you more bags, more currency and Empyreal Fragments

If you pick Deceptions skill and ShadowArt it’s more easy:

-You regain more Initiative while stealthed
-You stealth while ressing your mates and ress faster
-You blind enemy while downed
-You run faster while stealthed
-You can share stealth via Shadow Refuge and Blinding Powder
-You can stealth with 6, 7, 8 skill slot
-Combo stealth: Combo Field (smoke) + Blast (AoE) + Leap (on self)

Metabattle

Black Powder will be your source of stealth – combo it with Heartseeker for self stealthing, shortbow’s Cluster Bomb for AoE stealth, or Blinding Powder for almost instant AoE stealth.

Make use of torch 4 wisely: if you use it near a wolf you’ll get in combat

Summon 3 illusions and Use Continuum Split:
F5 – 4 – 9 – 7 – 0 – 7 – 8 – 4 – 9 – 7 – 0 – 7 – 8

Teq is a lot of reward for a short time investment. Any of the bosses really but that one is my fave. The LS3 zones are good to get ascended trinkets.

Personally, I always farm SAB in april. Do every zone on normal and tribulation mode each day, loot the glorious chest and have a chance at the blue (and orange) skins to sell at the TP. They have dropped in price quite a bit, but you can still make some money. Last year I got ~6 chests with blue skins, this year I got 5 so far. No orange skins ever.
Thinking about it, the g/h ratio is not very impressive, but I still like doing it because SAB is some of the most enjoyable content in the game.
