Hello everyone. I was doing events at cursed shore to farm materials for my legendary.

Suddenly, for no apparent reason, I started getting my map bonus every 6 or 7 events instead of the usual 2.
Also, each event I complete gives me a very small amount of exp and Karma.

Do you know why does this happen? is there some kind of limit on the reward tracks or something?

Sounds like DR.

“Diminishing Returns” is an MMO mechanic designed primarily to nerf the effectiveness of bots and to a lesser extent to prevent players from easily burning out.

In GW2, DR manifests itself in a few different ways:

  • In dungeons, you get 60 tokens/run only once per path per day. (Account)
  • For nodes, you can only farm a certain number of high-value nodes/map/day (character)
  • For mobs, you will receive decreasing amounts of loot after farming the same “area” for long periods of time (Maize Balm farming suggests this to be ~30 min – 1 hour, the time is probably variable to fake out bots).
  • For events, you will also receive decreased rewards after repeating the same event on the same character without trying something else (most easily seen: at Rhendak), for repeating events with the same “area” without going somewhere else or swapping toons, and with the new map-reward system, for never leaving a particular map.

tl;dr mix it up. The ‘best’ solution is to have 2-3 characters you can farm an area with. When A hits DR, switch to B, and before bringing back A, go do something elsewhere (easiest: do a rich plat run in other zones, do some WvW, etc.).
