I have been having a tough time getting my 100% map completion. The only things I need are two POI and two Vista. Problem is they are in Eternal Battleground in WvW and our server (Aurora Glade EU) haven’t been green yet in order for me to get them.
At first I thought I should wait it out, but it has been weeks.
Are rotations random? Will my server eventually get to be green?

Are the rotations random? No. The colours for each tier is determined by your ranking. The highest ranked in the tier will be green, second will be blue and third is red.
Will your server eventually be green? Only if you get a higher rank then the servers you are currently playing against or drop to the tier below you and have a higher ranking then the servers in that tier.
Your best bet is just to spend the cash and transfer server. Which i find idiotic and is one reason ill never have 100% map completion.
My server has been # 1 in WvW for months and always same color so i cant get map completion either.
I think its stright up unethical on Anets part to require you to pay as much as the game cost to transfer to 1 or 2 other servers then back to your own just to get map completion.
@Zolihan: Thanks for the info. My server should be moving into the lower tier next rotation, so hopefully that would give me an opportunity to get it.
@Rifter: With my situation I can at least wait to move up or down in tiers as explained by Zolihan, but you are pretty much screwed.. Hope it all works out in the near future.

Unfortunately this same thing happened to me, I litterally waited on 1 vista in EB for well over a month. I checked WvW everyday, waiting for a Zerg to make the ultimate push and if this helps, typically weekends are your absolute best bet unless you get lucky and your server gets the color needed.
I’m a WvW player, casually, but I like to jump in every now and then for the PvP fun. However I was disappointed WvW counted toward world completion. It felt forced to me and I’m sure there are some that have no interest in WvW that felt it even more. Ofcourse I sucked it up and did it anyway since I pretty much do the same thing going to work everyday

It was before guesting so I couldn’t do anything but dungeons with my guild for a week but in the long run it was worth it.

Right, but people like me, and EVERY SINGLE PLAYER who starts from here on out will have this issue.
Its nothing but a cash grab, plain and simple.
If they think people are going to pay the rather high server transfer prices just to get world completion they are dreaming.
My main is at 6x% map completion now, if i get to 99% and still server is in # 1 WvW and i dont have access to the 66% of the POI, vista in WvW i need and they havent fixed it by then i will probably leave the game, ill wait a few months but my server has been # 1 so long by such a large margin i dont see that changing any time soon.
They need to either allow free transferes again so new players can get map completion same as old players did, or allow WvW to be accessed from guesting.
This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

Map completers need a new skill. Call it infiltrate. The skill allows you to stealth your way through walls to needed poi and vista. You cannot see any other players (no spying) and can only interact with a vista.

Thats irrelevent to the fact that anyone who played last year got a free pass and now Anet is holding out there hand to collect money for server transfers for new players trying to do the same thing. Its not right.
Update: Spending the money on a ram, running supplies and then taking down a gate by yourself with the hopes that not a single member of the opposite server sees you for about thirty minutes or so, doesn’t work. Neither does trying to build a group without being commander.

I’m in the same boat, what’s worst I keep losing Map Completion every time they update/patch the game, I’ve been 99% only have it drop to 98% about 8 times now.
Map rotation happens every Friday with the normal reset time but, it doesn’t always help. WvW is just crazy right after rotation and ownership can change a lot on a map between Friday night and Saturday after a reset.

Irrelevant, especially if they want new customers. However I wouldn’t call it unethical, just bad design/lack of foresight to see that servers would get locked into a particular tier/rank.
What gameplay reason is there to have colors linked with rank? Is there some sort of advantage to being a certain color in EB? All the borderlands are the same so there wouldn’t be any advantage to being a particular color there.
After they removed free transfers, I am never again 100% another character. Sad but true. I’m just glad I did it with my main when it was free.
WvW should be removed from World Completion. It is just too punishing for players on the “bad” servers. I am on Fissure of Woe and we are always someone’s prison kitten. Just holding our own “home” is a struggle; no way could we take over the other three areas of which two are duplicates (all borderlands are the same, so you do the same thing three times!).

Kind of new, but not really. I started map completion as a goal 3 months ago. My server has never been green in the eternal bg. Missing 5 pois and 2 vistas.

I love it when people cry over map completion. At one point when i started off and was a noob, my server was forever red… It took 5months before we were green..5months for 10POI and 4vistas…
On a side note, you could always befriend your servers commanders. Ask them nicely if they could take the zerg and cap whatever you need. Usually good times are before reset when the match is decided.
