I had 707/707 POI’s. I had to finish up with skill point’s Malachor’s Leap. I grabbed the last SP thinking I had completed the 100% map completion. To my dismay I did not and when i checked I was 10 POI’s short. Looking at my map completion now I am 707/717.

What am I overlooking?

Do you have all 4 WvW places complete? Three are the battlegrounds (all the same) and the forth is Eternal Battlegrounds. My bet is you are missing 10 in one of the BG’s.

Sadly, I’m in a similar position and I have no idea how to progress. Im at 98% overall map completion. According to the map the things I’m missing are 500/507 Wps, 701/717 POI’s, and 261/266 vistas. I have completed and received every zone completion reward, including WvW. Its very frustrating considering that its clearly just not working correctly.

Is it possible Heart of the Mists is included? Personally Orr was the last part I had to do and that was after I completed HotM and WvW so I have no idea…. there may be a single zone you simply skipped over to come back to and forgot about. The only way to remedy this situation is to go back though each zone and check- a way to narrow this down is check your explorer achievements for which zones you don’t have 100% on and start with those zones…. that should narrow your search to roughly 3-5 zones.

I’m 100% sure everything has been explored, HotM is not included. Even so, I have all points explored. Its clearly a bug.

To complete the map, you need to explore 100% of all the 6 cities, all the PvE maps, all 4 WvW maps, plus the Chantry of Secrets. Spend a little bit of coin and travel from one area to another and check their completion status. Shouldn’t take more than 30 min to check everything in PvE. If everything is 100% complete there, queue for WvW and check those maps too.

It’s clearly not a bug if almost everyone else is able to get the completion.
