I just finished map completion on my second character and got the reward but, noticed the Map Completion Medal says map completion 100% with 1 character, is that correct?

“with a single character” meaning you can’t get 50% on one and 50% on another.
That is describing the requirements for getting the medal not a status indicator.

I have the map completion 100% on 2 characters, got the awards but, the Medal says 100% map completion with 1 character!!! Shouldn’t it say 100% map completion with 2 characters?

No. The medal states the requisite, not the current attained.

This. The medal isn’t listing how many characters have it, it’s just stating that you have explored 100% of the map with the same character.

Otherwise some people might think you just need 100% in total – that for example if your sylvari character had gotten 100% on Caledon Forest then your human doesn’t need to go there. Or even that if 3 characters get 33.3% each it will add up to 100%, even if it’s the same 33.3% each time.
