So I’m working on my 8th Legendary and I’m hitting a wall with Karma. I have all class 80s and have 100% map on 5. So with the last 3 I decide to map a few zones for Karma.

Every Heart you complete goes above your mini map until you open and collect it. I thought to try and capitalize on food/buff karma bonuses by saving the Hearts for a few zones. Bonuses work for Hearts/Events but not potions. After doing this for a while I stacked up by buff and bonuses and went ahead and started accepting the Hearts. But there was only 4-5 on each character where there should have been anywhere from 20-50

TLDR
So here’s the question – If left unopened does the system accept and default Heart rewards to my account or did I lose the rewards entirely?

I have 5,450hrs logged on my account so you can imagine that the account is full of currency/items/stats etc and keeping an accurate track on something like Karma. I remember having close to 5million at one point and 150k two weeks later

The system automatically accepts the rewards and adds them to your account as far as I am aware. I’ve had cases before where I had more world boss/wvw rank chests than I opened as well, and there were mysterious items in my inventory I don’t remember picking up…

the system USED to automatically accept them (changed during feature pack in April I think). I think since that feature pack, you MUST click on the heart (same location as chest reward icons….lower right) and accept the rewards.

Also, if you have completed the Hearts previously, you will get no indication other than the full Heart on the map and the counter in map status.

Note that you MUST go near the Heart NPC for the heart to show up on the map BUT you can actually compete the Heart if within range of the required activity (and the game will automatically allow advancement if you are in that range). I have often approached an area while map clearing and uncovered a heart that was fully filled already.
