I had been saving these for use on the high level ores/wood. Turns out, they don’t work and give me ruined ore/wood. The tools do not say what their maximum harvest level is like normal tools. Is this intentional or a bug?

Yeah, I wasted a couple of orichalcum ores when I tried this myself. I later found out they were the equivalent of steel. The description could be a bit (a lot) clearer.

Wow I’m glad I read this. It’s probably worth sending in a bug report.

It is not a bug though Saber, just an ambiguous tool, you are better leaving it in a suggestion thread for the tool to state its rarity equivalent.

I was saved these for high level gathering as well only to be bitterly disappointed when it failed to properly mine the or chop the logs. So I ended up just tossing them.

They’re worth keeping around if you’re slumming in lowbie zones. I do that a lot while playing with friends who aren’t nearly as far along as I am. I hate seeing a node on the minimap and leaving it untouched, so it saves me from having to buy low tier tools for the area. Wasting mithril or ori tools on copper just irks me.
