I’m not quite sure how working on masteries works with alts. If 2 or more characters are working on the same mastery do their xp combine to complete the mastery?

I have almost completed the second level of gliding with my mesmer. I took my new revenant into HoT and he can glide because my mesmer has mastered the first level. If I set him to working on the second level of the gliding mastery will his xp combine with hers (I really want to be able to use the updrafts) or is it better to have him work on the mushroom jumping? If his xp will not combine with hers then I will just put off playing him until she completes the second level gliding.

Yes. XP from level 80 character will combine if they selected the same mastery. That’s the “no grinding” part of Colin’s HoT announcement. All your 80s contribute, all your 80s benefit from mastery.
