I took over a year off the game and blah blah blah megaservers blah blah blah temples…

So, where does everyone get their shards, now? All the other merchants I’m familiar with (read: merchants that were in the game 1+ years ago) were a total ripoff, so I’m reluctant to spend ridiculous amounts of fractal relics or laurels on them. But since it seems temples all but deserted, where does everyone get theirs?

Nowadays it is hard to find the all the temples contested, but still, many players are getting shards from chests in the Silverwastes.

Like Belzebu suggests, I would try the Silverwastes chest farm for “free” obsidian shards. That map is also a decent way to make gold.

The karma merchant at the Balthazar temple is still there and not a total rip off. And temples are rarely contested these days.

Really strange – I have logged in every evening since I’ve gotten back and it’s been contested each time. Perhaps I’m just getting on too late?

I’ve found it open fairly often while farming lemongrass. The most recent time was when there was a straits event daily(not surprising).

You can also check the open world LFG. Sometimes people will put up an ad to taxi people into maps with it open.

And if not, you can try posting in the lfg: Looking for open Balthazar. You may get something that way – but yeah, that temple is open almost every time I’m in Orr. It still gets done.
