Ok got a question:

Other than cosmetic reasons what does a mini pet do? I ask because I am not sure if I will get one. If it does nothing except follow me around trying to look cute… to me it’s not worth it. Just anothing thing for the game to populate.

Note: I am not saying cosmetic pets are stupid and those that collect them arekitten #8230; just saying it’s not my cup of tea. If you are a collector by all means grab them all. Just not my thing.

They are purely cosmetic.

Cosmetic but amusing :P I am assuming that they will do the same thing as they did in GW1 and give you random ones as birthday presents for your characters.

Thank you for the prompt responces. Cosmetic pets have their place. They can be imersive with the little goofie things they do i supose. I’m just not sure they are my thing. But hey that is what is great about this game… you have alot of freedom to play as you please.

I have heard it is possible to obtain them as a rare drop off of the mob that they emulate, but I have been unable to confirm this.

I had heard this as well, but have never gotten a confirmation only rumors.

There’s a small red arena (which looks, not surprisingly, like the ArenaNet logo) in Lion’s Arch on the beach near the PvP/WvW gates which has a couple of minis “hanging out” in it. There’s been speculation that at some point we may be able to use our minis for some sort of mini-game/battle thing… but nothing concrete about that yet.
