Mini = extra loot?
Sounds like a superstition to me. Like lucky socks or something of that type.
Your mini gets extra loot but it is all soul bound to it
I think they might have gotten info from different games mixed up. I know Aion has pets which can improve your loot and I think other games do too (possibly including WoW).
But in GW2 all the mini pets are entirely cosmetic. All they do is follow you around looking cute.

I keep telling people in dungeons that my mini is the reason we do so well.
And that if you have a mini out you cant die.
I hope they know i’m joking around…
Mini’s in Guild Wars 1 could indeed get you extra loot. I’m almost positive it’s not true in Guild Wars 2 though.
I tested this is Guild Wars 1 doing vanquishes of the plains of jarin with just me and one hero. When I had a minipet out I ALWAYS ran out of room in my pack before I finished. When I didn’t have a mini pet out, I virtually never ran out of room before I finished.
The reason it was obvious in that instance, is because with only 2 characters, having a mini gave me 2/3s of the spoils intead of one half…a big difference. If you had a mini out with eight characters, it would be a much smaller percentage gain.
Whoever said that it’s happening here is probably taking the Guild Wars 1 information and superimposing it here.
in GW it was possible for loot to assign to your mini, wich meant less drops actually

Actually it meant more because your Mini was tied to you and therefore drops for your mini were drops for you. Your heroes/henchmen, on the other hand, had “inventories” of their own, which were not shared with you.
It always seemed unfair to me that my heroes got an equal share of the drops but I was buying them their weapons and armor upgrades.
Get your own, cheapskates!

you cant pick up the drops of your mini
