Mining Tools or Total Makeover Kit
i bought the 5 makeover kits. you save like 1/3 the cost. but more importantly, i am a nutjob when it comes to aesthetics.
The Infinite Mining Tools is a looooong term investment, when you think about it like that 30€ is not that much for a game that doesn’t charge any sub fee.
They are cheaper than buying individually (1000 each when they are out) they are even cheaper than the soulbound version which was 800 each. They are convenience.
When the infinite gathering tools first came out I didn’t think they were worth the money. Then my main character got to level 80 and I realised she was going to spend the rest of the time I play this game skipping between maps. Which meant either carrying loads of different tools or buying ori tools and using them on everything (and still having to carry at least one spare set).
So when they were re-released in August I got them all, and I’ve never regretted it. Not having to worry about what tools I’ve got and what they work on, and if a particular node is worth using them on or if I should save the uses is really nice.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
If you have to choose, I’d take the tools. The kits will come in game, if rarely. Some come from milestone achievement chests, some drop in Black Lion Chests. Also you will use the tools daily and the makeover kit is a more occasional fun thing. I do always keep one kit in my bank so I can quickly consider new looks but I think I’ve only bought 5 ever (maybe 10 if there was another sale?) and the rest came from drops.
Then again I’m careful in initial creation to get just the look I want. So to me the kits are specialty items for rare actual use.
Neither. Don’t spend real life money on this game.
Don’t support the Gem Shop, it’s that easy.
Soo, I went ahead and bought them. I must say it’s quite convenient having infinite usage mining tools.
The only thing that bugs me is that I have to switch them between my characters to use them, and that’s a bit of an annoyance. Maybe they could make it so that you were them account wide and there’s no need to transfer them to another character.

They went from soul bound to account bound.
Think that way:
If you plan to play GW2 for at least three more months, then yes, it’s worth it. Why?
Assuming a GW2 “sub” would cost $15 a month (Just like WoW; 3K gems are $40 minimum) you’d pay 3 months of playtime, but in contrast to pay for just being able to play you also get some nice stuff for the money.
i found my anwser here to but now people are here anyway i gues i could ask my personal question here to, since i cannot log into the game atm how long will this sale last?
That was one day only. There’s a different sale today, 35% off all the Aetherized armors. I’m sorry you missed the tools
well didnt had the money now either >.> hehe
