Monitor upgrade or Video card upgrade?
Really, it sounds like you’re happy with both of them, so my recommendation would be to look elsewhere in your life to see if there’s something you want/need more (An SSD is superior to both those options if you don’t have one already) But if you’re looking for a total stranger to make a binary decision for you, I’d vote to get a new monitor.
What resolution does yur current monitor go up to ?
If its already 1080p ..i wouldnt bother ‘upgrading’ ..since you wont see any differencei n quality with another 1080p monitor. However if you buy a 1440p or 1600p monitor then you would, but you would then likely need a new GPU becouse the 460 will strugle to run games at those resolution.
If you decide on the 660ti ..maybe u should consider the AMD 7950, its roughly the same price and will beat the 660ti in performance.
Your 3rd choice is to wait. Wait till around march next year for the next gen GPU’s to release. Ask for money for christmas and save up and get a 700 series Nvidia or a 8000 series AMD.
As for waiting on monitors ..well i dunno how long you would have to wait but im personaly waiting on a 1600p 120mhz 37"+ monitor/TV preferably super Widescreen to be released. ATM your choices are ether small 120mhz screen ..or small 1600p screen …you cant get a screen with both and you cant get them big ether atm.

I think i’m playing at 1600×1024 currently.
Or maybe it’s 1600×1280. I’ll have to check when I get home.
One advantage to a new monitor would depend on your card’s ability to support two monitors. There’s no reason to junk the old one; you can just set it to the side and move windows back and forth between the screens.
Then you play the game in full screen windowed and keep your web browser or Mumble or whatever visible on the other screen for easy reference!
Other than that, I’d usually choose a better card over a slightly better monitor. You may be doing well with it now, but if you must wait a year for your next chance to upgrade, you may start seeing performance issues. I’ve had monitors last for years (I’m not terribly picky about them as long as I can get highest rez and no flicker).
Yea I will still be able to use the other monitor for another computer I have so it won’t go to waste. My dilema is it will probably be 1 or maybe even 2 years until I can look at upgrading something again. My vid card isn’t horrible now but in 2 years it may be.
I’ve been wanting a new monitor but i’m not sure it’s worth it since really I think the only benefit I’ll be getting will just be getting a much larger screen? But I’m not sure because a new screen may be brighter and more vivid then my 6 year old dell but i’m not sure.
I remember what model dell I have now. it’s the 2001fpw. Here are the specs to the 2001fp ( I could not find the fpw but the only differnce is wide screen) http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/monitors/2001fp/EN/specs.htm

Hmm maybe a new monitor for u may not be a bad idea. You rly wanna get 1080p ..which is 1920x 1080 .a 460 can handle that in Gw2 with a mixture of medium and high settings.
But imo if you cna afford a 1440p or a 1600p monitor u should probably try for it since even though ur gpu may not be able to handle it now ..in the future what ever card u have then could take advanatge of it.
