Okay I am late for the party but I decided to try and get the achievement for Bioluminescence armor. But from my understanding you can only get the mordrem parts if the Breach happens and with all the new things just added no one is doing silverwastes at least while I am on. And from what I read you have to have all four post captured to get the breach. So am I just screwed or did I miss something?

Have you tried using the LFG tool to look for active maps?

I don’t know about NA servers but on EU it’s still done multiple times per day. The problems is as soon as a map makes some progress people will start using the LFG tool to get people to join, and when that’s happening the game sees it as the map filling without help and so it won’t put new people into that map. Which means if you just go there and hope for the best you’re very unlikely to end up on a map that’s making any kind of progress.

But if you open the LFG tool and go to Central Tyria – Squads you’ll probably see at least a few being advertised. It will usually say something like “SW 50%” with the percentage being how close to the bar filling up and the Breach event starting it is.

The other option, if you have time for it, is to try and get a map started yourself. One person can capture a fort and either hold it through the first defence event or (if you’re quick) capture a second one, either of which will make some progress.

While you’re doing that use map chat to tell people you’re trying to get an event map started, ask people to capture the other forts and to tag up if possible. If you have a mentor or commander tag turning that on lets people know they’re not alone in the map and makes it more likely they’ll stick around.

Then once you’ve got a bit of progress (holding 4 forts is best, but whatever you can manage) start to advertise the map in the LFG tool and you’ll get more people coming in which will speed up progress.

First of all, you do NOT need to have all 4 outposts held to get a breach, but holding them does speed up progress. And yes, the only way to get all the Mordrem guts is to get a Breach. It still happens frequently, just not continuously the way it did when Silverwaste was new.

As for collecting Mordrem guts, you can get at least 2 pieces each breach as long as you have the extractors. You can get the 1st piece during the initial fight with the bosses under the outposts. If you have another extractor, you can get a second piece from the boss at Vinewrath. If a lane fails and your lane gets to fight a second (or even third) boss, you can get yet another piece of Mordrem guts. One last note: even if you fail to beat a boss under an outpost, you still get the guts if you used an extractor.

yeah tried the lfg tool. I do that multiple times before I post. But I must just be missing them. I did notice one day a commander tag just as I had to get off the game. So it may just be bad timing on my part. Will have to see if I can find the right time on NA servers.

Thanks. I must have just not been there long enough. I’ll have to find time to be there a bit longer to figure out what is exactly going on. Got a bit frustrated a few times because I kept dying. But I am learning not to swarm when mordrem is trying to reclaim. It very big ouchy. LOL

You’re very unlikely to log in just as a breach event is starting – even using the LFG tool it’s rare to see ones where the breach is advertised. (Especially because it’s better for everyone involved to get to the map before it starts.)

So however you do it you need to allow time to work towards it. I usually try to allow 1-2 hours to do the entire event chain, but sometimes it’s taken me less than an hour.

The Breach starts when the orange bar at the bottom of the meta-event tracker is full. This bar fills up a little bit each time players do something to help the Pact – claiming forts, defending them, repairing them and escorting pack bulls are the main ones.

Probably the best way to go about it is this:
1) Try to be online at busy times – that’s usually from about mid-afternoon to midnight, based on the time zones where the servers are located (so American times for NA servers).

2) Go to the Silverwastes and check out the progress of the map you land on – if there are any commander or mentor tags that’s a good sign but more importantly you want one where at least 1/4 forts is held and/or the orange bar is partially filled.

3) Also check LFG to see if you can find a better map – you want to look for a description like “SW 4/4 1 com” (which means they have captured all 4 forts and have 1 commander) or “SW 40%” which means the orange bar is about 40% full.

Any that say 80% or more are risky. If it’s been up for a while they might have actually filled the bar and the Breach might have started which means you might be too late.

4) If your map hasn’t made any progress and you don’t see a good one advertised keep checking. But while you’re doing that start trying to capture forts (try to fight 1-2 mordrem at a time, they don’t respawn in this stage so it’s ok to go slow) and post in map chat that you’re doing that. Put updates in map chat regularly so new people arriving on the map can see that it’s active – this makes it more likely that they will stick around.

5) Once you’ve decided on a map – either the one you’re on or one that appears on LFG it’s just a matter of working on defending the forts and protecting pack bulls until the bar is full.

6) When the Breach event starts a big hole will open in the middle of each fort. You need to jump (not just run) into it. You’ll appear in a cavern with a boss inside. Each one has their own mechanics and it’s a good idea to read the Wiki or ask in map chat before the event starts to learn how they work, or follow what everyone else is doing.

Important

Make sure you have the Extractor in your inventory before the Breach starts – there is not enough time to get it afterwards.

Make sure you use it when the Breach event starts – not after the boss is dead (like I did the first couple of times). It gives you a buff which lasts for 3 hours (far longer than the event) and that needs to be active when the boss dies.

Thanks Danikat. I did learn how to use the extractors eventually. LOL I think I wasted about 4 before I did though. But now that they have the specific part extractors it will be a bit easier then it was for a lot of people that did it at the beginning. And thanks so much for the bar explanation. I was wondering how that filled and if it was significant. now I know what to watch and work for.
