Guild Wars 2

Wanted to get some opinions from people as to how best I can gear my Warrior out in some Ascended Armor (Trinkets are all set). I do prefer PVP/WVW, but I’m thinking my best approach is to do some PvE and I’m really not sure where to start.

Fractals maybe? Is just straight up Crafting it a good call? Any specifics or links to information appreciated.

Just do all t4 fractal dailies. I have a whole bank tab of ascended chests that I have no use for because fotm has already given me all the gear I need.

Most painless? Just play the game and hope pieces drop for you. I’ve gotten ascended pieces in WvW, open world/jumping puzzle chests, and just as open world drops. That, of course, doesn’t kit out a character in any kind of time frame, but whatever.

I’m crafting my armor, and have full sets of heavy and medium, and took a break from the light until I gather more materials. I’m in no hurry, so don’t want to buy the mats if I don’t have to.

So if you have the mats or the gold, then crafting is slow and steady. Just make the daily components and assemble the parts. That was a big IF, though.

Recently? Fractals use to drop alot of ascended armor in the past, up to about a year ago, but since the last fractal patch i’m lucky to get one ascended drop in 3-4 weeks now.

The drop rate hasn’t changed.

it do seem to drop more helm, gloves and boots compared to leggings chest and shoulder tho.

Before dident you get chest and could pick what ever you wanted?

Have been getting quite a few bits and pieces from WvW (just statswap them if they have undesirable stats), raids are also a decent source, decent chance at insignias and inscriptions as well (which you can then use to statswap your WvW acquired gear, or just cut down on the crafting costs).

Haven’t really done much fractals (still not even completed T1) so can’t really comment on that.

And of course there’s the Caladbolg quest after you finish HoT for a guaranteed free ascended weapon (well, requires some running around). Now that they fixed th last HoT quest running through HoT if you haven’t already shouldn’t be too time consuming/painful even if you generally dislike PvE.

I average 1 chest per day. My guildie I have been taking with me has half my loot level and is pulling chests even two at a time. I have pulled 3 chests in a single day from fotm before. They drop like cheap candy. To play probability, you play more.
