I am coming back and restarting my char’s but im wondering what EU server i should pick.
I mainly play PVE with some WvW from time to time.
I’m looking for a very active english spoken EU server.
What would you folks suggest?

I don’t know how active other server are, but i know that gunnar’s hold have a big active community and player base.

Aurora Glade also has a very active server at the moment with regular queues at peak times for WvWvW.

Active servers meaning they have more players tend to do better at WvW. http://mos.millenium.org/matchups Higher tiers should be more active. Though watch out for servers that are resonantly getting smashed where they weren’t before as that may signify a large migration of players. I would pick something in your language in the 4-9 range (tier 2 or 3). I had the best times back when my server was in tier 2.

Desolation looks like the most active EU server to me WvW wise.

Simply look at the top place of EU servers in WvW.

Depends on what time you mainly play, check them for a few days to see which are highest.

I’m on Desolation, which seems OK from about 18:00 to 23:00 GMT.

Not at all anymore. Server switching now costs gems which you receive either with gold or real money.
Switching to a server with low population is cheaper than switching to one with higher population.

Seafarer isn’t what I was. The few bigger wvw guild left due the lag and cunning issues. Can’t confirm if they will ever come back.
But we’re quit active, and wvw is still “above” average

Shame that there is no free server switching anymore.
But it looks like i will go for Desolation as it seems the most populated.

Desolation is a very active PvX server, we have the most high up sPvPers in europe (if you check leaderboards), tier 1 WvW server as well as a lot of PvE’rs.

Zero. Transfers are only free if you have no characters on the account. Meaning you would have to delete all your characters for the free transfer.

Good tip there for new players with very low level characters.

Maybe ArenaNet should let new players know that one, so that they can avoid the transfer cost as they find a server best suited to them…………… oh wait, it costs cash to transfer, why would Anet tell them they can do it for free !

Desolation it is, now all i have to do is figure out what class i will play
