I’ve been looking at ways to Karma farm and am curious what tricks there may be. Events give ~300 karma per… when you need 200,000+ that can be daunting. I have, of course, been doing the dailies and monthlies, so I am well aware of those. However, the monthly won’t be completable until much later in the month so I need to find other efficient ways to karma farm in the meantime.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Do your daily achievements, save up the Jugs of Karma, and use them all at once with a karma booster. It should be roughly 60k karma (maybe a bit less) per week if my bad math skills are right.

You might reach your goals sooner by farming, but that’s a good reliable method that’s easy to work in between anything else you like doing.

You could try Orr, starting with Plinx and ending with the risen abomination…just remember to switch out your “farming” or dealing with large packs of standard mobs skills for your fighting a big boss skill. As a thief this means swapping out haste and assassin’s signet for shadow refuge, smokescreen, and since it’s a special case that justifies it ( in particular a very fast moving, hard hitting champion whose damage connects before the animation is finished and could easily catch up to you long after you blow your energy and sometimes can’t find the green shortbow 5 circle to get away), swapping out dagger storm for basilisk venom.

WvWvW is extremely good for getting Karma. A lot more fun than tedious PVE grinding too.

I did a combination of Wvw (get in a raiding group running around the map capping camps and towers) and Orr events.
It seemed to go faster doing Wvw because I was having more fun. Orr is tedious after a while (for me “a while” was 1 hour on that map)

Dailies and monthly w/ the karma booster comes out to 270k, plus whatever you get while finishing the daily. Also, find a guild that runs the karma boost for event farming.

Sorry to steal the spotlight OP, but while this is on topic, what is the 200k+ Karma needed for anyway?

I’ve got an almost full-exotic (only shortbow needed) 80 thief and I’ve never once understood the need for that much karma. Or what it’s even used for.

Ive already farmed my 1 million karma for my legendary (havnt made clovers and i am still basically broke lol) but my 2 cents for getting karma is have a guild that keeps the buffs up, and run: plinx, pent, shelters, jorfast, tars, arena, rakken, and just tag the broodmother and the champ abomination (or if there are multi events up at once kill a few mobs then run the next, you only need to do 20k dmg or so to the champs to get full gold credit.) I dont remember my avg. karma per hour but i do know that in one weekend i got 200k, keep in mind its very boring lol and its a constant battle with DR. Hope that helps

Daily achievements reward 1 Jug of Karma = 4,500 Karma
Monthly achievements reward 10 Jugs of Karma = 45,000 Karma
One month’s worth of Jugs of Karma (assuming 30 days) will net you 180,000 Karma, not including any use of Karma boosts.
The standard Karma Booster increases the amount a Jug of Karma gives to 6,750 Karma. This means, in one month, you can earn 270,000 Karma.
If you add on top of that the Karma Banner boost and the Guild Karma boost (5% and 15% respectively), each Jug of Karma rewards 7650 Karma, and for one month’s worth of Jugs of Karma will net you 306,000 Karma.
Also, for additional Karma, running events in Orr and Frostgorge Sound as well as completing dungeons can add on top of your Karma earnings.

15 Jugs of Liquid Karma with a Karma Boost is 101k karma (6750 * 15 = 101250). Do dailies and monthlies, save the jugs and use them with a boost. I opened 15 myself on Tuesday.

Other than that, go farm Plinx (with a group if you want good loot, but you should get karma even without). Every three events = a bit over 1000 karma.

Plinx all day every day until your eyes bleed.

you can also opt to run some very fast dungeon routes, CoF path 1 can be completed in around 15 minutes very easily for 1.8k karma (2.1 with guild boost).

I find it amusing that meeting every goal you might have in the game is essentially answered by “Grind Plinx until your eyes bleed and your spleen ruptures.”

Well the answer is Plinx.
Very good karma along with finishing your daily/monthy.
Also gives you a lot of gold. During my 1mil karma hunt I got around 150g from junk + ectos and mats, which is pretty average I guess.

Doing WvW will
a) give you several dynamic events you can complete on your own, for Karma and for your Daily Achievement
b) give you a wide variety of enemies for your Daily Achievement (unlike Orr)
c) give your the player kills needed for your monthly achievement

No other option offers you that many different ways of working toward Karma rewards in one place. On top of that, WvW drops aren’t too shabby (both from PvE and from PvP enemies), so you’ll also make some gold.

The price you pay is of course that you may get killed by other players more than you’d like, so stay attentive while you play.
