Hi all

I’m too mad and angry at myself to even bother with this message, but I just want to warn others so they don’t get in the same situation.

I accidentally left my own personal one-man guild that I used for saving mats in the guild vault!!!

I thought I was leaving a temp Crown Pav guild, but it was my own :-(

I have been saving mats for my Frostfang since day 1, but now I kicked myself 1 year back in the progress.

I’m completely devastated, and on the edge of depression. I know it’s all pixels, but I worked hard to earn those stacks upon stacks. With 3 unfortunate clicks, it’s all gone!

HERE IS MY ADVICE:
If you have a personal guild that you use for storage, invite at least another person that you trust in your guild. This way, even if you are so stupid and unfortunate as me, you wont loose all your stuff. The other person can simply invite you to the guild again.

I’m so sad now, that I’m going to take a break from GW2. It’s just too depressing.

Please take my advice, it’s a terrible feeling to suddenly loose all your stuff.

You have my sympathy. That’s terrible. Have you contacted support? Can they do anything at all? Might be worth a try.

I have a person guild as well and had been very worried about doing what you described. It’s easier to do than one would think. I have since invited my husband to the guild as backup. Very sound advice.

That’s an excellent suggestion Lilith, thank you. I’ve come close a couple of times to doing what OP did, and I have stacks of stuff in my storage guilds. Including weapon skins such as Chiroptophobia and a Phoenix hammer.

Dude, All is not lost. AFAIK, Anet can roll your account back if you contact them and tell them your situation. You will lose everything from now to the date of the rollback BUT … you will likely be able to get your org back. Anet is pretty responsive to this kind of thing from my experience.

No, they will not roll back the account. (An Account Restoration). Account roll backs are for accounts that were hacked. They will do a one time rollback per account for that reason only.

“Account restoration is only for an account that was compromised by an unauthorized person. We do not restore accounts impacted by scamming, erroneous gem purchases, accidental deletions, etc.”

Also: “Restorations do not impact guild banks.”

Also a guild bank, even one for a private one-member guild, is not considered part of your account and wouldn’t be affected by a roll-back.

They also won’t do touch anything having to do with guilds, usually.

Unfortunately, you’re probably out of luck. It is a really bad design to have the “leave guild” and “represent” buttons hugging each other. I’m always worried about clicking the wrong thing accidentally as well, though for one of my personal guilds, I have a friend in it, just in case.

I want to thank all you AWESOME people for cheering me up. The huge amount of support you all have given me is overwhelming. I wish I could hug you all! /hug

I know I will get back to the game again as soon as I have let off some (a lot) steam. I strongly believe the only reason that motivates me back to the game, is the amazing people in the community. Loosing all that (precious) stuff is harsh, but it’s absolutely worth nothing compared to the kindness and integrity of you all. This game is a “living story” only because of the incredible community. You are the ones keeping the game alive!

My only advice here is regarding your personal happiness:

So long, and I think the best thing you can do right now is budget $50-$100 over the next few weeks and just convert gems to gold and buy back your progress. The happiness is well worth the price.

Now I’m nervous every time I leave my personal guild to rep my full time guild. O,o
That ‘leave guild’ button is so close to the other one and there isn’t any “are you sure you want to do this” warning.
