My Journey Finally Begins
Skype will get you a couple of friends. Mumble or teamspeak will get you online with your server or guild.
Forget about skype, find yourself a nice guild and get yourself on their voice server. It’s a much better alternative.
Welcome to the game. Hope you have a great time!
5…years…waiting?
I hope you enjoy the game ! I had to wait 1~ month after the game was released and the wait was already killing me,I can’t imagine how someone that was waiting for 2 years feels.
(The 3 years before the launch doesnt count imo, since nobody could play at that time anyway)
My tip for you is to not rush lv80 in your first character (your second char you’ll REALLY want to rush it,leveling up again is just not the same…) and try to get map completion when you can,the rewards are pretty good for a starter,it is also pretty fun,the game is beautiful.
Also,I think the GW2 gameplay is one of the best, the combat system is almost flawless.
Hey all. I would just like to introduce myself on the forums of Guild Wars 2. I have been desiring this game for at least 5 years, but my parents would never give it to me. I finally went out and earned some cold money into my PayPal, which was extremely hard to do considering my age, and now I am finally here. My game is 85% downloaded, and it has been downloading for about 5 hours. I am sooooo excited…
Welcome to Tyria! It’s nice to meet you!
Tip: Let me give you the lowdown on the Tier 1 North American servers. Blackgate is where alot of the hardcore types go. Jade Quarry and Sanctum of Rall are PvX servers (which means the people tend to do a little of everything in the game). Tarnished Coast is the Roleplaying / PvX server.
As for the other servers, I haven’t had first hand experience with the other worlds. If anyone wants to recommend a friendly server for this guy, please feel free to post it.
If you want to roleplay (RP) in this game, you’ll want to introduce yourself to the RPers on their unofficial site, Guild wars2 Roleplayers (http://www.guildwars2roleplayers.com/).
Another Tip: Before you join a guild, figure out what you like best in this game. Then find a guild that matches your interests.

Welcome to the game. It has a lot of wonderful things going for it. Remember, if you remain on these forums, that even the naysayers are people who found enough merit in GW2 to hang around for years.
