Sorry for the dumb topic, I’ll explain! In the friends list you can click someone and give them a nickname, I do that because I remember people by their character name and when they make new characters I don’t remember who they were before. :P

But it seems that after some time the names I gave them disappear for some reason and it shows their account name instead that I don’t recognize. Now I have to ask them who they are and it’s kind of embarrassing.

Am I doing it wrong? How does it work?

When I party with somebody I always look at the account name, not at the character name, you may want to do the same You know that the account name will not change.
