The mystic forge, is well, pretty mystic and mysterious. Not all the recipes are known, same for all of its uses. So please, Post any recipes, things you’d like to point out, or even just how to use it and any questions you might have. Also if a mod could sticky this, that would be awesome. So this is what i’ve found out so far about the mystic forge in terms of how you use it.
You first need 4 items. You could do random items, but they need to be the same rarity. So if i get 4 green armor peices (lets say gloves, chest, helm and boots) and combine them, ill get a random armor peice (any one that you can wear) and it will either A. be better than the greens i put in, or B. Have a small chance of producing a yellow). This concept goes for all equipment.
However this is something I should note. I was experimenting with shoulder armor and I found that if you do different levels of armor, such as 2 lights and 2 heavy peices, then it is considered random. However if I put in all heavy shoulders or all medium, i kept getting light pieces. No idea why, it might be a glitch at the moment. You also can use the MF (mystic forge) to produce special cooking items called feast and armor satchels. However, from what I understand, these give you the recpies, so unless you have the correct level of cooking or whatever armor the armor satchel has, you won’t be able to make it.
1. Karma items. Not many people know what to do with karma items, but you can combine them in the mystic forge. I need a weapon upgrade and instead of going to a karma vender that sells yellow items for 10k karma, i bought about 5k worth of green rifles (about 800 each) combined them and got 4 yellows. Then i combined the 4 yellows and got a really good yellow level 60 upgrade.
2. You use the mystic forge to create special cooking items called feast and armor satchels, explained above before the list.
3. You can transmute materials. Refer to the wiki link to see some known list.
4. Jewels, armor upgrades, save them. You can combine these in the mystic forge to create higher level ups. SO i’ve been saving mine since level 1 and combined them all to create upgrades and so on till I get them to level 80 and they are usable. They work the same as armor items. But you can only combine 4 upgrades, not upgrades and jewels. So 4 green jewels can produce a better green jewel or a yellow jewel.
5. PvP mystic forge I hear is pretty simple, refer to the wiki page.
6. Legendary items. I was talking to some level 80s and they explained to me that the Legendary items are unique in appearance and stats. You can’t get them in PvP either.
However to get them, it is very difficult. When you reach level 80 you continue to get exp to gain more skill points. Some of the materials required to produce such items are bought via skill points by the girl who stands next to the mystic forge. You usually need a good amount of coins and a scroll on top of a large amount of 2 other items. Refer to the reddit link for a few known ones.

Updates: Journeyman, Fine, and Masters salvaging kit plus 3 mystic stones yields a mystic kit with 250 charges.
