Is the Mystic Forge working as intended?

I’m on the Tarnished Coast Server and been working for a few weeks on trying to get Dawn/Dusk from the Mystic Forge. I did lot of research and ask around from others who got one of these. The general consensus is use 4x Rares and usually get it on the 60th-80th attempt. Now I know its a chance game but after 137 attempts(548 greatswords) I’m wondering is this is bugged since they nerfed the % or what. I’ve also tried 4x Exotics(stated by a Dev increasing the %) about 5 times and no luck either.

The odds using rares are about 1 in 1000… not 1 in 60 to 80. I haven’t seen someone with a big sample size of Exotics try it yet, but I’ve heard the odds for exotics are significantly higher. Maybe using Exotics would get you your 1 in 60 chance?

It’s still RNG tho… totally random. You could throw 4000 exotics into the forge and still never get Dawn or Dusk.

Yes it is, just check the tradepost. people are getting the precursors so it is working as intended.

Make sure you are putting in the right kind of weapon. For Dawn/Dusk all 4 weapons need to be greatswords with a minimum required level of 76 or higher and rare or exotic. For the rest pray to the 6 gods, the spirits of the wild, the mother tree and the greater alchemy all at the same time to be lucky.

(There might always be a change the Charr where right when they decided that there are no Gods, wich would mean it would be better to just not pray at all).

sigh 142 and counting. Just frustrating.
