So shame on them for making all the classes SO much fun…With that said I have a 20 of each and have it down to these 3…So at 80, who has the least trouble with places like Orr ect? Thanks in advance…

Oh and I care the most about Solo PvE as I get HUGE wife aggro, she is immune to Silence and Fear so I need to be able to log off with 0 notice Making me not so group friendly….

I think Necro is the easiest of those 3 imo because minions, but they get a LOT of aggro from minions and they don’t let you leave combat while they fight, kind of annoying.

Guardian probably has it easiest moving around Orr with all that defensive stuff. By that I mean actually moving, as Orr is a CCfest where enemies will pull and stun and tons of annoying stuff QQ

I like Ranger for PvP, not so much for PvE so I can’t help you there unfortunately.

Either way I think you should hold off on making a permanent decision before the November patch comes out, it’s going to have a lot of changes to classes.

Ranger is perhaps your best choice if you can only really solo stuff. You cant solo higher level content or anything, but for leveling and the like its pretty decent. Anything that likes range is a good choice, and rangers have pets (albeit a little crappy)

I got 80 ranger & a 80 Neco Both do very well . But My ranger with traps has a much easier time with veterans and champions . As for my neco he has some long cool downs and a very weak and very dumb pets .Once to often as I’m getting the kitten beat out of me I’ll look back to see my flesh golem busy fighting with another player which leaves me a 50/50 chance of surviving the fight.

having played a necro and guard to 80 i can say they have their ups and downs. guard is probably the easier one overall because it doesn’t take nearly so much damage, but later on the necro can be very good. i play a wells/power build so i just drop them and watch the numbers go. it gets lots of CC with a horn, dagger, DS, flesh golem and wells.

both are good but necro is more fun i think. guardian for me involved spamming GS skills for 70 levels.

i main a Guardian, and can’t offer comments on the other two (only lvl 2’s lol sigh). the Guardian is pretty versatile and am able to solo most content, iven i don’t bite off more than i can chew. in PvE (apart from dungeons), i run strictly MF gear and can still hold my own in most cases. even in Orr, it’s not TOO bad, as mentioned, you have a lot of buffs, condition removal, etc. in terms of traveling, you have Save yourselves, Retreat and Staff #3 (Symbol of Swiftness iirc) which allows you to keep decent uptime of swiftness.

i’m built quite survivable and have high, sustained dmg output. don’t take long taking mobs down at all. love seeing constant crits up of up to 2k and more.

good luck!D with the little experience i have wth the other two and seeing my ranger / necro friends play, they look mighty fun as well. i plan to level them as well.. if i can take a break from my Guard/ ; ))

I only have my necro on 80 so far, and I really don’t have any trouble with Orr – as long as I don’t try to rush it and run through hordes of undead… I’m using a condition/wells build btw (ok, one of these ‘wells’ is actually an Asuran racial skill, and I often switch between the blinding well and Blood is Power, but hey)

“Strategy”: Run into a group of Undead, drop my utilities + the two AoEs from scepter and dagger, switch to deathshroud, skill 4 – watch the numbers go down

(I don’t care if there are more effective ways to play the necro, I’m having fun)

Oddly, these are the 3 professions I’m currently playing and having a ton of fun with as well. Mine are 53 Ranger, 46 Necro, 24 Guardian. Have been having a tough time deciding which my “main” is too, but I have a feeling it’s going to be a play all 3 as the mood strikes me kinda thing. I like to keep it fresh so I’ll play one class for 2 weeks, then another, then another. I’ll prob be back here in a month asking about Engineers lol.

iam also playing an Necromancer and Guardian. Iam not really having any trouble at Orr. Even if my Guardian still is a bit more easier at Orr then my Necromancer, for the reason he has alot of defensiv Skills.

Personally, iam not having any experience in playing Ranger, but friends of mine said their doing also quiet well.

Thanks for all the pointers, I think I am leaning towards Necro based on fun factor, I know the cliche thing is “Play whats fun” but lets be honest with ourselves, no matter how much mashing certain buttons make our belly tickle as the sparks fly ect, its VERY disheartening to look over at another camp of mobs and watch a certain class OMFG pwn the same mobs in 1/10 of the time it took you…..So with that said, has any 80 Necro’s out there felt this way at 80?

My first 80 and my main is a necro and I will say, after getting a few others up to 80 my necro was and still is the easiest to play and can take on much more than the others can. I get my kitten beat more on my guardian than I ever do on my necro lol. Around Orr, you’re just gonna have some spots you run into that you won’t be coming out of if you go solo regardless of the class you’re on, but I can do far more of it solo on necro for sure. Also I rarely use pets in Orr other than my flesh golem (aka Fleshy lol) simply because of what others stated, too much over-agro. In the end, it still will boil down to what you enjoy most because if you’re only half-enjoying a class just for its pwn ability, you still won’t do as good as you would on one you like more because your heart isn’t in it.

(the following is all PvE) I find my Ranger to be the easiest for survivability. So much evasion built into skills and traits. Not to mention 2 pets to tank for you. And while my Guradian can heal thru a lot, not getting hit in the first place > healing after. I’ve never tried MM Necro and until I hear of minion AI improvements, I won’t. But I find my survivability quite high being a conditionmancer and spreading slows & blinds non-stop.
