I am trying to figure out the “perfect” condition build for necromancer. I mean in terms of skills, traits, and gear. This is for WvWvW.

Right now I am going with Scepter + Warhorn and Staff. I am also just looking for the most condition damage possible when selecting armor.

For skills/utilities, I am currently using the Minion heal (forgot the name :P) for 6, 7 is Spectral Grasp, 8 is the Signet that stacks a bunch of conditions on your target (I forgot the name for this too, it’s late… I’ll edit later with correct names), 9 I am currently experimenting with different Wells, I have the trait that allows me to ground target them. My elite is currently Lich as I thought he was supposed to be immune to stuns, slows, etc… but I learned that isn’t right in WvWvW last night. I will probably switch back to Flesh Golem.

For traits, I am taking the lines that give +Condition Damage and +Condition Durations. I am completely open to suggestions in this area.

Any suggestions different weapons to take than what I am currently using?

Also, is there anything else I should look for in gear? Toughness? Vitality? Precision? Or should I only pay attention to condition damage?

Thank you for reading and for your time if you decide to respond!

Vitality and condition damage in my opinion.

Also try Plague instead of Flesh Golem. It’s pretty fun in WvWvW

I think you should use Cond Damg and Toughness. Toughness helps you in Death shroud as well. I dont think vitality affects your Death Shroud live bar (not 100% sure).

For max Condition you could try Dagger as off hand. Is has nice bleeds. And for Utility i would recomend corrupt boon and maybe epidemic !

I’m playing a condition build myself, though mostly have been playing PvE so far. Staff seems pretty much a must in WvW for sieging so you might want to try and check for some traits that will make your staff better. Lich does give stability, if you were effected by anything that stability should block it’s probably a bug. Lich is awesome for 1vs1 fights. I’ve won every 1vs1 fight I ran into thanks to it. But plague is good too, give them all blind, yes please? It’s damage is poor though so you need to be with a team when you use it. It should also give stability.
As for weapons you might want to take a look at dagger as off hand weapon next to your scepter. Swiftness is nice and all, but I find that the dagger does so much more.
I haven’t really tried wells yet myself, but I like the idea of continuing the condition focus in my utilities with Consume Conditions and the Corruption skills. Note this also works well together with the dagger #4 skill.

edit:

I think you should use Cond Damg and Toughness. Toughness helps you in Death shroud as well. I dont think vitality affects your Death Shroud live bar (not 100% sure).

It’s based on your hp so yes Vitality will effect it.

Scepter/dagger and staff. Warhorn offers nothing to condition builds. Epidemic is a must. Corrosive Poison Cloud is also a good WvW choice. If you’re feeling frisky, try Plague Signet.

I’ve been playing Necro since the beta, PvE and PvP you name it.

Scepter and Dagger should be your main weapon choice, they will be your bread and butter. You have bleeds on auto attack and two AoE bleeds, an attack that does more damage and grants more Lifeforce the more conditions you have on the enemy, and an ability that sends up to three of your own conditions you’re suffering from onto an enemy. There is no combo that comes close to rivaling this for condition Necro.

Take either a Staff in you’re secondary weapon set because it’s simply awesome all round, or a Dagger and Warhorn for the utility (3 second single target root, CoE stun, self swiftness).

Minions are terrible in all PvP but perhaps 1 vs 1 in open locations, so your Blood Fiend will not be doing a lot. Take Consume Conditions as your heal instead, it has five seconds longer CD than Blood Fiend but you don’t have to cast the detonation so it’s instant, it heals for more, it heals even more for every single condition you have on you, AND it clears those conditions. A condition clear is invaluable in PvP. Take Consume Conditions, really. ^^

As for you’re three utility skills, take Blood is Power I think it’s called. If I remember the name right that bleeds the enemy and yourself, and generates a bunch of Life Force, you’ll know it when you see it. For your second skill take Signet of Spite, which boosts your power passively but puts -six- conditions on your target when you activate it. And finally take Epidemic, which gives -you- a poor debuff you can ignore that lasts six seconds, but in return you spread every condition on your target to everyone in a large radius – amazing, amazing AoE damage potential there.

For your elite take Plague or Lich Form. Plague is better for groups, Lich Form solo. For Plague you want to spam that 2 key to spam blinds on everyone in the area, pretty much causing them to do no damage – needless to say it’s a giant help for your team. Lich Form just puts out insane damage with the 1 key and your summon on 4 is decent, as is the knockback on 3.

I’d type more combat strategy and say about traits but I have to get ready for work. Bleed damage, condition damage, condition duration, bleed duration. Put on your utility skill bleed first and only use Signet of Spite when the enemy is bursting or you’re going to use Epidemic to spread all six debuffs it will put out straught after in an AoE fight situation.

Wells or other corruptions etc arn’t needed. Epidemic’ing
your single target you’ve started to bleed will do far mroe AoE than a Well or other ability can dream of for Condition Necromancer.

Hey , I have been playing with getting a good condition build and i could share some of the things that i do.

I take scepter main and off dagger( i used to love horn but for condition damage dagger is better since you have enfeebling blood and you also have a blind that is really good since it jumps between targets, second weapon staff, had the bleed mark that its on a shot cd and all in all a good weapon that offers burst dmg and ways to defend yourself, since you can put them down on choke points and people need to run around or what ever because of the aoe fear and slow .

Heal skill is consume conditions, for the utility epidemic and blood is power i think are a must at least in PVE, i tend to swap epidemic with spectral grasp in pvp sometimes, and for a 3rd i use signet of spite, goes amazing with epidemic if you can land it well, puts 6 conditions on top of what you already have and then epidemic spreads them, really really good. As a elite I used to love Lich form, but i don’t find it as good now to be honest, you become vulnerable in pvp everyone focuses you and you have no heal, so for the bleed build just go with plague, makes your hp double gives a tone of toughness, you can tank like a boss) plus you do a lot of aoe dmg and bleed.

Traits: 30 points in Spite, 30 in Curses, 10 in Blood Magic

Spite passive: , Spiteful Marks, Reapers Might, Close to Death
Curses passive: Weakening Shroud, Hemophilia, Lingering Curse.
Blood Magic: Mark of Evasion

When the fight starts i am using Staff at first i lay the marks down when enemies hit i dodge in and out to apply my Blood Magic passive than swap to scepter put i hit my second and 5th than cast 4th while i get close to them and enter and exit Shroud for the Curses passive then i finish it with Blood is Power, Signet and epidemic, and i end up having 15+ stacks of bleed on my targets, this works really well in pve with big groups of mobs, the aoe is incredible, in pvp its not as possible to do this but it is still really really good because in case things go bad use heal and right after go into plague and that should keep them busy.

My gear stats are power precision condition all the way, its prob not the best but its how i like to play.

The idea of a bleed spec is to put as much bleed on a target as you can and to be able to reapply it if they remove the stacks and this weapons sets and traits allow you to do this since you have a lot of ways to put bleeds on a target even when you dodge.

Have fun

In sPvP Blood is Power is kinda weak – the bleeds do decent damage, but over 30 seconds.

Where it’s at is Corrupt Boon – you’ll see thieves, warriors, mesmers and especially guardians with a long, long, LONG line of boons under their names. One well-placed Corrupt Boon and they are pressured into using their condition removal. If they don’t have one/its on CD – then they are really softened up for you and your team mates.

What i do is
30
15

10
For traits, this helps keep damage high while maintaining some survivability.
For my weapons i mainly use a staff with an axe dagger off hand.
For my utility skills i take
The one that gives a bunch of conditions, the one that causes massive bleeding, the one that causes the conditions of one foe to spread to multiple foes, and plague for my elite.
