Was wondering whats the best Weapon combo for a Necromancer pet build.

Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead.

The best would be what ever you prefer.
I go with scepter / war horn 2nd weapon slot staff when soloing

During DE’s I use Scepter / Dagger 2nd weapon staff.
Dagger off hand gives me another AOE while staff is on cool down and I missed some of the oncoming mobs.

I started off really liking Dagger / Dagger. But Switched to Scepter / Worn Horn.

I just did this as well – way more fun to play/does more damage – imo

I find I never use staff mostly because I don’t like the weapon skills that come along with it. I prefer axe/dagger or scepter/dagger.

Personally, I usually run around with Axe/Focus and Dagger/Dagger. I like both skillsets very much, though they are very similar.

However, earlier, I discovered the wonders of using a Staff against large groups of enemies. Combined with Well of Suffering, I finally managed to beat the jump puzzle in Demongrub Pits. In order to reach the chest, I had to fend off 2-3 groups of oozes that each had 4-5 oozes, and two of which had a veteran. I’ve yet to ever take on so many opponents (and veterans) and come out alive, especially with so little time in between.

I love Axe/Focus ==> Staff : )

Make sure you take a look at your combo field skills, for example Healing Skill: Well of Blood and Putrid Explosion is great for AOE heal.
You have a lot more skills like this too.
I love the staff because the auto attack goes through Spectral Wall as a combo finisher.

If by pet build you mean minion master, staff is by far the best. It’s the only necro weapon that allows you to heal your minions. (on a really short cooldown too, like 6 seconds). your secondary set is really up to you. I personally like scepter/focus for single target ranged damage.

It all comes down to personal preferance. Personally, I use scepter / dagger for my first slot and staff for my second slot. The staff comes in really handy on huge fights with alot of mobs where AOE would be useful.

I use Dagger/Warhorn personally. I’m making a toughness/vitality based necro with lots of lifesteal and lots of conditions. I tend to use this when Im doing solo, and my secondary is a staff, mostly used for large groups of monsters or in large events so the multiple other players can combo off the effects

I have been using Dagger/Warhorn and Scepter/Dagger for my two weapon slots. I have found it nice to swap between the two as S/D gives a bit of extra AoE for me for when my Wells are on Cooldown. (plus provides ranged capabilities as a fight opener)

I am then able to swap back to D/W for single target damage or Life Stealing abilities should I need a little bit of health.

I tried playing with the staff, but found mobility lacking in comparison to the weapon combos listed above.

To be honest I’ve noticed the massive AoE havok that the Staff can wreak, hence I decided to go with that. I do have an Axe/Dagger combination just for giggles, I don’t use it at all. I’ve noticed that being with pets and being able to keep an enemy confined to one spot and marking the area they are in or close to is a blessing in higher level areas or an area where there are a lot of foes. It’s great to be able to stand back and keep your survivability around you when it almost seems impossible to do such.
