Necromancer needs your help
If you want to kill a single mob as fast as possible you need burst damage, which the necromancer has very little off. Have you tried a staff yet bursting those marks on your target and then maybe switching to a dagger? (I think dagger main does more than axe, not sure though)
I have tried putting all staff marks on the floor switching to death shroud to stack 6 or so of vulnerability then to main hand + offhand and using the feast of corruption with all stacks of the scepter bleed + poison. And it still seems to take so long
The only way I seem to be able to output decent DPS is using all our minions, any other setup feels even more slow to me, and I am not even a huge fan of pets and minions.
What traits do you use for a pet build?
I get the highest DPS from dagger/dagger. Minions are garbage! When I see a necro in spvp with minions, I already know I will crush him, and that I do….
For events, with lots of mobs I will switch to a staff sometimes.
Well i just tried 5 different builds and all seem to kill around the same time just with my health either lower or higher.. Think im going to level a new class as this slow style isn’t for me.
And when the next character hits 80 maybe end game content will be out
I laugh at people like Swahl who think they can always crush a minion necromancer in sPvP. A new/poor necro player perhaps, but not a good one. As with all builds, they are only as good as the player’s ability to dodge and assess the situation they are in so as to get maximum results.
I have yet to lose to a fellow necro or any class (other than a lucky engineer once) 1vs1 using a minion build. Even a thief melts due to their inabiltiy to overcome Death Shroud if timed right. Minion necros are more than viable and deadly in sPvP, especially when paired with a teammate who can distract. The problem is people think the minions are supposed to do everything and they can sit back and be lazy. Cant do that.
Hit me up any time and we can do some sPvP together…you’ll see what I’m talking about.
I have traited mm solely as well as I find it more survivable as well as a decent amount of dps. I trait for
30 Blood: Minions siphon health, Siphoning is 50% more effective, Siphon upon crit
30 Death: Bigger marks, 20% staff cd, +50% minion health
10 Curses: Bleeding lasts 20% longer
Essentially with this build it’s all about precision, DoTs, and the added bonuses to each. If my DoTs are critting, I’m essentially always gaining health from minions as well as the critting of DoTs which is near perpetual with the amount of bleeds and poisons I’m throwing out there. Not to mention, with 6+ minons out at any given time I get 20% toughness (120%) and then another 5% of my toughness gain to power so everything hits harder except the mobs.
Whether this does more damage than others… meh, it’s close, but I don’t think I’ve ever had the 20s per mob issue (though I do prefer bunching everything up with this build as there is plenty of AoE to go around).
Staff, Axe/Dagger
Heal: Well of Blood (though quite survivable on their own, [my flesh golem solos lv80 mobs] keeping minions up, keeps everything rolling along)
Utility: Bone Minions, Bone Fiend, Shadow Fiend, Flesh Golem
personally i like
atleast 20 spite: for 30% minion damage
20 death: minion/staff cooldown(dependign situation) . 50% health
20 blood: mark of evasion, summons siphon life
the last 10 i haven’t yet decided maybe to spite to get that +20% damage when target under 50% hp
and weapon choices heal specced staff(to make minions last longer), condition damage scepter&dagger
