Necromancer or Elementalist
I play both, and I like to use them both for different purposes. Elementalist has better party support and CC. I also find ele more fun to play because you’re constantly cycling through the elements. Necromancers are more conditions based, which is very helpful in wvw (and I hear PvP, though I don’t PvP), and less of a party support unless you’re using staff and wells. There are many, many different builds for all classes, so I recommend visiting the individual forums for Elementalist and necromancer.
I’ve tried both classes, and my Necro is the one I ultimately stuck with and leveled up.
Necromancer has very good survivability, with access to a variety of minions, numerous AoE skills (for when you get swarmed), excellent vulnerability and condition stacking, and Death Shroud. It’s a fun and not too frustrating class to level. When you get to the point where you choose a build, you can reasonably go with conditions or power (or both…I’m trying out a hybrid build right now and it’s pretty fun).
The learning curve for Elementalist is somewhat steeper, but it’s a very powerful class once you get it to full potential.
I agree with rhapsody, check out the two classes’ sub-forums and research some builds to see what each one is capable of. From there it’s a matter of personal playstyle.

will i like both range and melee dps, i like shamans and dark things. i forces on deface and offence with both magic and physical. i like dungeons but pvp just seem to be the only why to show you have some skills. i like to be a hybrid type

It’s odd. When I was leveling both, I didn’t like the necro — it was the last one to make it to level 80 as it seemed weak compared to the elementalist. But at 80, I find the necro more enjoyable than the ele. I love sucking the life out of groups of enemies with death shroud, and dropping “tainted shackels” on one of them.
I found them both to be rather easily killed at lower levels compared to other types.

I say this not to refute your post but only to add my own, individual perspective.
I found it extremely easy to just pull all kinds of creatures and enemies while leveling and AoE them all down as a necro, whereas my ele did a lot more creative kiting.

Well shamans and dark things speaks to the Necromancer archetype. Both necromancer and ele can do melee and range.
I would go necro, I have played though both and the Elementalist was the only one hated. Out of all my toons the Elementalist just sets in a jumping puzzle now… cause I hate playing it.
Gameplay-wise, you can build both necros and eles to fit each of the criteria you mentioned. Eles are more preferred in dungeons than necros, while necros fare well in all scales of PvP and eles tend towards large group PvP.
Seeing as you like the dark mage archetype, I’d say necro. But if you have the time, check them both out.
