Guild Wars 2

So my achievement counter says that I only have 2 hints left to discover before I have them all. But when I go to the hint tab it shows that the hints I have yet to discover are “Broken Equipment” and “Mailbox is full”. Two achievements I know I should have gotten already. What can I do to fix this?

I know that the “Mailbox is full” one happens if you have 10 email from other players. As far as I know, it will not trigger from system emails. I just asked 11 of my guildies (one extra to make sure I had a message that could not be delivered) to send me one email each. After I got them all, I logged out and when I logged in again, I got the Mailbox achievement.

I think an easy way to get the “Broken Equipment” one would be to take off all gear except just one piece of armor. Then get yourself killed by a mob a few times. That will ensure the one piece of armor you have on will get broken by the deaths. You might also need to log out and back to get it to recognize the broken piece.

If you still have problems with the mail hint, delete all of your mail, then start anew. I’ve heard this helps.

As for forcing broken gear, strip down to a single piece of cheap gear that you’ll just salvage when you’re done (to save on repair costs). Then throw yourself from a cliff. Preferably one near a WP. Repeat until thoroughly trashed.

As frugal as I am, I’d recommend doing it on a low level toon to save the Wp costs, or have a friend res you.

Unfortunately, falling damage usually does not damage your gear. If you fall while in combat it does but just leaping off a cliff cost you the way point charge but no repairs.

Oh absolutely. I forgot to mention that. Everything is cheaper low level. Roll a new alt and do this.

Really? Huh….didn’t know that. Ok then, just take your new level 2 alt to Lions Arch via the gates and walk outside. You’ll be easily 1-shotted and the WP is right there.

Falling damage does NOT damage armor….must die from attacks. (if you are IN combat when you fall, that WILL count).
