Guild Wars 2

Hey all, it’s me again…

Recently I have returned to Guild Wars 2 to get re-accustomed to the game, in preparation for the new Expansion coming out! I come to the forums today to seek some advice and get recommendations for a class that I’m not quiet sure I can narrow down myself, so I’m going to list off some things I feel I personally need the class to be able to perform well at, which may not all be possible, but I’m going to try anyways.

1. So first and foremost, the class can’t be overly complicated when it comes to rotation/skill use during fights, I like to concentrate on the fight/battle more than making sure I’ve switched between multiple kits/attunements and whatever else to get the absolute most out of my toons potential, so being effective while maintaining a simple flow, is key.

2. I enjoy all of Guild Wars 2’s content, Dungeons/Fractals/WvW/sPvP ect. I also like being one of those sought after classes for those types of things, and knowing that the “Holy trinity” isn’t really a thing now, I do know that certain classes are seen as “Prime” choices for group composition, and in terms of WvW/sPvP are some of the most “Competitive” or “Feared” classes to go up against.

3. “Style” Now I know “Beuty is in the eye of the beholder” but I do like looking good, making good use of Dyes, and other cosmetics to give those people around me a sense of “Wow, his character looks amazing!” ect. ect. in most cases this limits it down to Heavy Armor classes like the Guardian/Warrior since most of their gear looks fearsome or awe inspiring…

4. Besides the content listed above, I like to be able to Farm areas or mobs/champs for loots, with Silverwastes farming being a thing, and there are others I am sure of it, I want to be able to make sure my class is good at it.

5. As much as I like playing with my friends/guildmates, I want to have the feeling that I am able to hold my own in a battle, and not rely on my group to carry me through, I’ve never been a person who, when playing games, likes to feel like, “I must be supported, or I must be with a group to do well”. Now I know some things are group dependant, thinking I can solo everything in this game would be a foolish notion, but still, I want to feel like I am succeeding at something, without feeling like it was because of “X” person/class being there…

Guardian seems to be what you want. Easy to play, can hold your own, needed in every dungeon/fractal group, also useful for farming areas (staff 11111111) and it’s heavy armor.

Agreed, minimal grief to play, minimal grief from others in fracs/dungeons, and little weaknesses overall. Guardian is your best bet

1) That remove Engineer for sure. Elementalist are easy in PvE, but you need to swap a lot of attenument in PvP.
2) If you want of of the ’’Prime’’ choice then you need to remove Necro because of PvE and Ranger, which is a good profession in all game mode, but never a really ’’Prime’’ choice.
3) Maybe remove all medium armor as they seem to have less good option in term of armor, but even that is risky because my Thief look awesome
4) All profession are equally good at that. Profession like Thief and Warrior have a mobility advantage or Guardian have the lootstick advantage, but it’s really minor.
5) That don’t exist in the game. Maybe some specific build could give you that sense, but then just don’t use that build, there is plenty other better build without that problem.

That leave 4 professions : Warrior, Thief, Mesmer and Guardian.

Like others said, guardian is probably your best shot. Very nice visually, heavy armor are usually the most beautiful. Relatively easy to play. One of the best profession overall (meaning all game mode), right behind Elementalist.

Play a Asuran Guardian. You will be popular that they will be lining up to have autographs signed.
