Need Events, Champs, Vets, for monthlies
Edge of the mists is the go-to place.
Thank you for that suggestion. I’ve only ever done PvE, so I know nothing about WvW. They have a zerg/train running events, group events, champs & vets on EotM? Is there a lot of zerg-hate to deal with?
wvw is basically nonexistent in eotm, everyone just farms.
Tons of veteran guards, each tower is champion/(group?)event.
But it is hit or miss, sometimes there is a zerg and others it is a ghost town
Thanks again. Is there a good primer or prep for EotM? Also, will Champs, Events, etc… done in EotM count towards PvE monthlies?
Edit – updated.
I went to EotM last night, and there was lots of WvW going on there. I don’t want to be an outcast farming in an area that isn’t intended for farming/zergs. This is (supposedly) why so many starter area champs were nerfed. Thank you for the suggestion, anyway.

Meta events usually spawn champs, vets and there are several events associated with each. It will still be fast, you do have 30 days to do it.
Thanks for your responses, I should have specified PvE only in the subject, but there’s not a lot of room in the subject field. I’d rather not learn a whole new style of game play just to grind monthlies. Does anyone have any good PvE solutions? Do we have surviving PvE zergs that farm events as well as champs? not interested in this for the loot, just to get the monthly grind over in 2 or 3 days.
I’m just looking for a way to get the monthly grinding done quickly.
Why do you call it a grind when you are the person that makes a grind out of it. You can get that stuff with no problem in 1 month without grinding.
Currently playing Heart of Thorns.
Thank you Mary Poppins for the totally unwanted, totally unneeded. “Spoon full of sugar” pep talk.
In answer, it’s something that needs to get done, and out of the way, as quickly as possible so that I can do what I want do to the other 27 or 28 days.
I had hoped I was polite enough to not get people trolling this thread.
Not ment as a pep talk or anything, but the lowlvl (not starter) maps usually have some ppl, and they call events/champs out in chat. Its not organised that I know of, but you get most events and such easily.
Thank you Joey. But I’m really looking for info on the existing PvE zergs, to see which would be best to get champs, events, and group events from. After the latest update, there’s hardly any current info on them. And I’d rather not try to temporarily bring back a starter area zerg, because Anet seems to officially be against them, and they seem to have a bad reputation, and get people upset. Thanks again for the suggestion.
come to think of it, doesnt world bosses count towards events, champs and such?
If you have the waypoints its every 15 minutes.
Edit: And Orr. With a little luck there is a train in Orr.

Go to Gendarran Fields, there are 4 easily accessible champs and one event-related, that are more or less easy to defeat.
- Troll (wp Shiverspur Front, to the south in the cave) respawn: 8 min
- Spider (wp Almuten Estates, behind the house all the eggs must be smashed to spawn the champ) respawn (eggs): 12 min
- Centaur (wp Talajian Piedmont, in the caves west of the wp, enter the caves either at the northern or southern entrance, the northern one should be faster) respawn: 12 min
- Risen “Ketsurak” (wp Lionbridge Expanse, to the south in the Lawen Ponds; extremely tough fight if you are alone, can even fail when you are in two) respawn: 15 min
- Special: Warbiest (wp Northfields, in the north at the point of interest; requires the event “Prevent the Centaurs from capturing Nebo Terrace” to fail.) respawn: 6 min
Thank you Lanhelin, for the info on Gendarrin. I’ll have to check that out.
re: World Bosses – Oddly, World Bosses don’t count as champs, though they do count events, and group events. It kinda makes sense when you consider that Champs don’t count as elites or vets, and elites don’t count as vets.
Edited for clarity.

The Norn counts as a champ. The events also spawn champs because there are so many people there.
re: World Bosses – My post was unclear, editing.
re: events with large turnout spawning champs. – Thanks, that’s a good point.

It appears that the Frostgorge Champs there are also group event now. So the Frostgorge zerg can be used for events, group events, and champs. There are also a decent number vets there as well.
What other good champs zergs are still intact and running? Current documentation is scarce.
I was going to check out the series of events in northern Harathi Hinterlands since I am also interested in finding fast ways to get my monthly achievements.
Thanks for the suggestion Lazuli. I need to complete that area, anyway.
Should also mention that dungeon mobs count towards the monthly. So if you’re going to grind through the champs, may as well get some gold for doing dungeons while you’re at it.
So do Fractals, for instance, the ice fractal is loaded with veterans. If you aim to go and kill them all (recommend this only on the lower level ones since the higher level veterans are lvl 81+ and will wipe the floor with your party). All of the other fractals are heavily populated with veterans as well. The urban fractal basically has a buffet of veteran Ascalonians in the main field all fighting veteran charr. So if you roll that, there’s a good 30-40 veterans just on the field, just run to a mob and tag them all. When you go into the city itself, there’s at least another 30 or so in there.
Orr is a pretty good place for veterans and champs because there’s often an event zerg running around. Certain events will scale up to spawn champs if the right number of players are present, so you can kill 2 birds with one stone.
PvE aside, a good place for events is wvw. Literally every attack on a tower/camp/keep is an event and every tower/camp/keep has veterans and champions. Naturally, plenty of zerging going on there.
Thank you for all the good info, Azrael.
Oh, also forgot that the Boss Blitz is running and virtually every mob there is a veteran as well. Even when the events aren’t running the veterans are still there and count towards the event achievements. Hook up with a guild that’s running the gold blitz and you will very likely get the veteran killer achievement in one go
Thanks for the Boss Blitz/vet info. Did they change that when they changed the loot? I seem to remember people say that the Boss Blitz Champs & Vets weren’t counting towards dailies/monthlies when that event first started.

Hmmm that I don’t know. I tend to avoid zerging content, except in wvw and even then don’t play that much either.
