I’m trying to knock out all of the Slayer Achievements “besides Giants”, I have no idea where to finish off Plant Slayer. I am somehow @ 454 but cannot seem to find any areas/mobs to finish up besides Oakhearts. There just doesn’t seem to be enough and they’re all veterans which just seems to ad a lot of time to the already low count. Does anyone out there know any areas/mobs?

Theres a few Veteran Mosshearts, was just hoping to find a regular mob that was a bit more plentiful so I wouldn’t have to wait on respawns.

Most of the Maguuma jungle zones will have some kind of plant based enemies. Sparkfly Fen is an example of a higher level zone that has a bunch. I am not sure of exact locations, but as you travel around I am pretty sure you will come across them. The look exactly the same as the ones in Caledon forest.

Thanks for the info, although would you happen to know what the monsters are? Nightmare which are Sylvari don’t count since they have their own Slayer achievement.

Not sure if they will all count towards to the slayer achievement but worth checking. Nightmare hounds would probably be the easiest to go after I guess if they work.

I had actually already read through Wiki’s results, some of their monsters don’t seem to work. Nightmare works for the Nightmare Court’s Bane which is it’s own separate Slayer achievement. So that’s why I’m kind of stumped here. Nightmare Court makes up 95% of the Plants in this game it seems like.

Has anyone tested those poisonous plants at the start of TA exp?

I think the spirits Bloomhunger spawns around him count as well.

Gendarren Fields has a really good spot for farming Veteran Oakhearts. There are about 8-9 in the area and they have a short enough spawn timer that by the time you kill them all the first ones should be respawning again. There is also a skill point nearby that spawns 3 additional Oakhearts every time someone activates it. The closest waypoints are Lionbridge and First Haven.

No, Nightmare Court (and Nightmare Wolves/Thorn Wolves) count towards the Nightmare Court Slayer achievement. The only creatures that count towards the Plant Slayer achievement are:

- Oakhearts (Kryta/Ascalon)
- Pinesouls (Shiverpeaks)
- Mosshearts (Maguuma)

And all three of the above only seem to be found in Veteran or Champion versions. I have never seen a single normal Plant.

I think the jungle wurms in caledeon forest and similar areas are plants. There’s plenty of those.

Been playing since game launch, and never knew which mobs were considered plants for the the plant slayer achievement.

That is unfortunate. I do not want to kill those beautiful creatures. Sometimes by accident or in self-defense it happens, but to go hunt them? No.
Thankfully I don’t have to achieve everything.

Yeah, I was suspecting the Veterans Moss/Oaks were about it. I just wasn’t sure how I got to 450+ considering I rarely kill them. I was also told Sylvari count in WvW which may be why my numbers are higher. Thanks for the info guys.

Found another source for plant kills, the Melandru High Priest in Arah Path 4 infinitely spawns these trees, I got 30 points on this fight alone.

Thats an interesting note, now if I could find someone who wants the achieve and keep the boss alive.
