I’ve been away from GW2 for a while due to computer issues, and I’ve discovered that I’ve missed ALOT. I’m mainly interested in acquiring the mats and recipes to make the newish celestial gear, but i’ve missed the bazaar of four winds content entirely. Is there a way that I can still collect these mats? Or earn the recipes? Or am I basically out of luck?

In terms of collecting a stockpile of Quartz, I think your are out of luck, but you can still collect a limited amount by entering the Home Instance Zone with someone that DID get the node unlocked. Those that have it unlocked can only mine the Quartz once per day (in their own home instance), but I think if you enter another player instance with them, you can mine unlimited nodes per day (but I could be wrong in that). Pretty sure Quartz is available on the TP for a reasonable price. You can also get Quartz from running the Sanctum Sprint mini-game.

The real issue is that you need 25 Quartz to obtain 1 CHARGED QUARTZ (at a Skill Point Place of Power), and that can only be done once per day per account….and those are account bound, so basically it would take a month to make to make the material for the inscriptions (IF you had the required quartz). You also need the recipes for the needed inscriptions and each armor piece (those ARE being sold on the TP and last I looked they were fairly inexpensive).

Everything you need is on the trading post, and the prices aren’t too bad considering. A lot of people don’t like celestial gear, so the demand isn’t as high as you might think. As mentioned above the only real problem is refining quartz into charged quartz. That really just takes time….and a lot of quartz.

Thanks for the responses, although I wish it was better news. So I guess missing that one event is going to make the process of gathering materials a rather time consuming ordeal. I’m not sure why resource nodes need to be forever tied to the completion of one event. Oh well…

No more time consuming than it would have otherwise been, assuming you have the gold. You can just buy all the quartz you need off the trading post and start charging it right now. Making charged quartz is time gated for everyone, so regardless of having missed the event or not it is still going to take you a month to get a full set of armor. I know from experience.
