Guild Wars 2

Just want to make sure I understand a few things correctly. I just started doing fractals ten and above. I have been reading here (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/AR) and here (http://dulfy.net/2012/11/17/gw2-ascended-gear-and-infusion-recipes/).

1. The ascended rings all have an infusion slot, however the infused ascended rings all have +5 AR and an infusion slot (which you can use to get another +5 AR.) I can buy the non-infused versions with pristine relics or laurels and then pay to upgrade them in the mystic forge. They may also randomly drop (and if they do drop they can drop already ascended thus giving me the extra +5.) I get one pristine relic from each FotM of level 10 or higher. The page (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pristine_Fractal_Relic) makes it seem like they do not drop randomly, you get exactly one per run. The page (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fractals_of_the_Mists) lists it as a POSSIBLE drop which makes it sound like it either doesn’t always happen, or that you can get addional ones by chance. Any way someone could clear this up?

2. For the backpack I can spend 1350 +500 tokens, 250 ectos, and some mist essence to get a slot where I can put +5 AR. Or I can make the backpack in the forge for 50 ecto, some skill points and mist essence and then pay 500 tokens and 250 more with some mist essence to get thatslot where I can put +5 AR. Either way, once that is done, another 250 ecto and 500 tokens and some mist essence can upgrade that one to get a +5 AR on the item itself. Am I understanding this right?

3. For the amulets I can only get one by buying it with laurels or doing the very expensive triforge business. I can then get that up to +5 AR.

I basically have no idea what I’m doing with AR, but would like to keep going higher with my fractals (to 26 perhaps.) I’m looking for the easiest ways to do this.

pretty much everything you said here is spot on. some additional thoughts though. you can only get pristine relics from your daily on even numbered fractals. uninfused rings have a chance to drop only in the daily chest starting from 10 and on to 19. infused rings have a chance to start dropping in the daily chest from 20 onward. all of these rings have an infusion slot that you can put +5 ar in.

the ascended version of the backpack from fractals doesnt need 250 ectos. the ascended version has an infusion slot. the infused version of it requires 250 ectos.

currently amulets are only from laurels
