Hi, has anyone had any luck with creating an asian themed look for their character?
Anything on the lines of a Ronin, Monk, Martial Artists like appearance. Thanks!

NOTE: Preferably Heavy Armour!

You can go to the Bank, click on the Wardrobe icon/tab, and search through all available in-game armor (and preview it) to find what might be pleasing.

Well, this guy isn’t Canthan in the slightest, but I was going for as close to Tshirt and slacks as I could get in heavy armor. If you squint it could look like a modern martial artist’s get up (it needs Shadow Abyss Dye to disguise the fact that it’s heavy armor). There was someone in one of the show-your-armor threads that did an absolutely superb samurai look, too.

Though I think with the inclusion of the one handed katana/wakazashi like sword in HoT (It was data mined on Dufly) I think we might get more “Canthan” themed gear. The Ancestral and Imperial outfits are a good indication of what we might get in the future.

This might be what you looking for, medium armor, bucaneer chest, belinda great sword style, only ranger uses GS in the medium armored, i didnt check the normal swords for styles, but the bucaneer does pretty much all the job of samurai looking toon, not sure if this chest looks that good on humans and silvarys tho. Im not sure if this hair style is available for humans too.

I just went through all the armor pieces available. Most of the heavy armor feels more European, Western and Eastern. It sucks. The best you can do in terms of Far Eastern will be in the Medium armor category. Which does have a measure of sense, considering the heaviest armor worn in the Far East was Samurai armor, and that would be considered Medium armor compared to what the Europeans had for their armor.

Is this your toon? Do you have any idea what the helm’s called? I’m guessing the pauldrons are from the priory, breast plate part of the Phalanx set and the lower half i vaguely remember coming across this one so i’m confident i can pull this look off if i only know the helm x) THANKS for sharing the pic!

If you don’t mind using outfits, I think the Asura Shadow Assassin looks pretty cool for a thief. The other races look nice too, but the Asura has a long headband flowing down his or her back. The others don’t have that, but have a rope tied around their waist on the back instead in a silly knot I think that looks pretty stupid, to be honest. No idea how the Charr SA is, though. I don’t like that race much.

Eep, I’m not the OP. I was referring to finding the post I’d referred to in an earlier post in this thread trying to help the OP as well as Jinroh, who quoted me and said he’d want the samurai look.
