Hello, I need your advise guys on something, I have a Lvl 80 character who has around 60% world completion, and I just finished the main scenario story with him. I still didn’t do any Living World Story or Heart of Thorns. I had this idea of doing the World Completion thing so I can start hunting for Legendaries so that I can actually use it during the remaining story missions but I found that it will take a lot of time and resources to do!

So i’m wondering, what would be better, should i keep going for World Completion or should i just continue all story scenario?

World completion is the easiest part of legendaries. Depending on whether you are buying or crafting your legendary, you’ll have to spend a fair bit of time farming gold and/or doing collections.

Unless you’ve got hundreds of gold right now that you can blow to speed things up, you’re looking at several weeks to months of effort. You’ll probably be better off enjoying the story and do legendaries later.

Do World Completion and then try to craft your legendary. Farming up the money to buy a legendary would take a long time.

If you earned 50 gold every 3 days, which is about the average I earn, it would take you exactly 179.7 days to make 2,995 gold (which is the price of one of the cheapest legendary weapons).

I honestly don’t know if crafting would be faster than farming, but I think it would.

It isn’t. I’ve done the Dusk one. Unless you’ve stock piled the time gated mats, it’ll still take a ton of gold and farm time. The time required to complete the collections also need to be factored in. Some events for collection items are particularly annoying (e.g needing to be sucked into Teq’s whirlpool). The precursor collections were never meant to be quicker or cheaper than buying off the TP, it is a means of removing RNG from obtaining the precursor and perhaps add some interesting backstory. Whether that was successful is debatable.

Well, that’s one vote for each which still makes me in doubt, just to give more info; I don’t want to buy my legendary as it would defeat the whole purpose of crafting! I already maxed Tailoring and on the Way to max Weaponsmith. now that I actually think about it I do have one more question, can I do both in parallel? I mean would it be beneficial for crafting legendaries to do or complete story messions?

You can do both in parallel… it’s just that if you split your time 50/50, you’ll likely finish the story long before you craft your legendary (especially since you don’t have 500 weaponsmith yet).

Legendaries don’t make the story better/easier, nor do you need to finish the story to make a legendary. It’s really up to you which to prioritize.

I’ve hardly ever used the stat swapping on my legendaries. The only one that gets changed is my back piece when I swap to my condi necro. As someone who owns 3 legendaries lemme just say it’s mostly just cosmetic stuff. I’d personally just make an kitten nal of ascended equipments and find a cool skin for it. Some of the legendaries are pretty meh anyways.

Sorry guys,
1. First you’ll need to unlock your masteries, to start Legendary level 1, which then unlocks a vendor in the lions Arch Crafting area
2. Select the main weapon types you use from this vendor, in my case that was, GS, LB, Staff.
3. While your doing your map completion you can simultaneously do your level 1 legendaires as many of the areas overlap, if you did Map first and Legendaries second you’d have go to the same place twice…..
4. For my LB and GS many of the areas where the same
5. Harvest every single mode you see, my LB needs 35 Spritwood planks = 150 elder wood each plus other mats.
