Magic Find lets you have more chances of finding rarer drops, but it doesn’t mean that you’ll find more rare drops immediately. The effect is more long term. Also, if you switch to armor that gives magic find, remember that you’re foregoing your current stat build, which means you’ll find yourself likely a bit weaker or different. My advice is to compensate the lack of magic find with food. Forgot which, but I’m pretty sure there’s some food that chefs make that give a decent amount of magic find. Also, guilds usually (or at least in my experience with them) put up magic find bonuses as well, so finding a decent guild that gives bonuses frequently would help as well.
