Hey Guys,
i am back in the game for a few weeks now and i need to choose a MAIN Character to equipp with Ascendand gear.
I allready have a 80 : Engineer / Necro / Thief (but i would also start a new char)
What profession would be the best to do Fractals and WvW.
In WvW i like roaming.
Pls give your oppinions with reason behind that.

I wouldn’t advise a specific profession amongst those you mentioned for fractals. Maybe thief would the most looked for, but what people really want are guardians anyway. With the latest patch, maybe they will start looking for necros but I highly doubt so.
For WvW, I am roaming on a necro and enjoy it, however, being an average player, I get destroyed when roaming on my engineer. He is not exactly built and geared towards roaming so that might also be the problem. Thieves are always a solid choice for solo roaming if you like that kind of gameplay.
Personnally, I would advise you test a bit your necro and find out if the patch offered you a gameplay you like, but that’s because I main a necro since I began. Otherwise, I don’t think you’d regret gearing your thief if it’s a gameplay you are able to master. I know I can’t, but I have been crushed by people that do!

Thx a lot for your advise. I also played necro since Beta as my Main, but i never really felt good in WvW with condition type builds (i am roaming most of the time beacause my PC cant handle Zergs… so no fun with Epidemic)….. the latest patch was awesome but i have not played WvW with my necro since the patch…
I will look in the Necro forum for a good roaming setup and try again.
Since i returned to Gw2 i played my thief most of the time… i think Necro and Guardian need to compete againt him
I am currently leveling a Guardian to see if i like the playstyle
