Greetings friends,i’m kinda new here and i would like to know better about the gold>gem ratios,i made some gold (600) doing events and such and i’m looking to trade some of these for gem .

But,idk when to buy because the price change every time,this morning 2k gem was 508g,now it is 474g,so my question is ,what ration should i looking for? 400/450g for 2k gems is a good one?just for example.

The price fluctuates depending on supply and demand. The worst time to convert your gold to gems would be when a popular item goes on sale (e.g the character slot sale we had a few days ago). I haven’t looked at prices recently, but they’re likely back to the expected conversion rate now.

Large upward spikes come from new, returning items, sales which cause players to rush and exchange gold which in turn raises the rate sharply. For instance last weekends bag and character slot sale. Tuesday’s weekly update with the ice crown and Scruffy backpack wasn’t as interesting so rates return to their daily rhythm and range.

hmm thank you guys,that was really helpful, so according to GW2TP site the “normal” or "expected conversion rate " nowadays is like 100 gem 23/25 gold right?

Well, normal for lately. It’s quite good compared to a month or two, or three ago. I’ve seen it as high as 140 Gold for 100 Gems, and as low as 94 Gold for 100 Gems during this past Festival.

I exchanged a ton of Gold this last month or so, when it’s been near or under 100/100.

Edit: Replace 100 Gems with 400 Gems throughout post. Silly me!

Never seen it that high. Above 40g per 100 during the anniversary sales but nowhere near 100g per 100 gems. Currently it’s 23-26g to buy 100 gems.
