Okay, ive been level 80 for a while and ive finally decided to go for a legendary. The legendary i plan on getting is The Predator (for my engie). So far i have 55% map completion, the gift of battle, 190 skill points, and about 130 obsidian shards. My main problem is gold, i have like 3 gold right now and have alot of trouble making it (Most ive had is around 20). Karma seems to come easy for me but gold doesnt. Ive tried to play the trading post but I seem to lose more money than I make, prices are just to high it seems to risk buying and re-selling.

Im mainly making this thread because i need some advice, What are some good ways to make gold, whats the best way to farm onyx loadstones, bestway to get a precursor, and what should i generally get done first?

Making gold – sell everything. On blue and white gear, salvage and sell mats, and vendor greens. Sell anything higher on the TP. Run dungeons and fractals. And frankly, playing the TP is one of the best ways of making gold.

Onyx lodestones- get gold and buy them off the TP. Farming them is usually far less productive, as the drop rate on them is so low.

Precursor – when you figure this out, you can tell the rest of us. Mainly, the only way to do this is to either be rich so you can TP it, or to get extremely lucky with the MF.

What you should do first – whatever you feel like. Focus on whatever interests you the most.

Thanks for the insightful answer, i guess ill start with map completion and then work torwards farming karma. Hopefully it wont take to long

My advice for what to do first is the Mystic Clovers. Because the recipe gives only a 1/3 chance at them, you won’t know exactly how many ectos and shards you need. Also, they can give lodestones, t6 mats, and other stuff like etcos as well on failed attempts. This way you will not necessarily have to buy all your lodestones.
