I’m very confused by Verdant Brink (VB) in the area of tiers and the meta. I don’t know what the tiers mean, and the wiki is not very informative. Can someone point me to some info about the meta events?

Tiers: How ready the map is as a whole for nightfall (if in day). Each area, eg Jaka Itzel or Nobles, has its own ready bar when you are in it. Completing all the local events successfully fills up the bar.

At night, you get to the highest tiers by holding on to all the rally points and building them all up with Pact Supplies, along with killing all 5 canopy bosses. It takes organization to make sure all the camps are covered and enough people with the right masteries go to the bosses.

So, our map was at tier 3 (day), and it reached the far right edge. Then we completed 3 or 4 more events, but it never went to tier 4. Looked like the progress bar was maybe under the icon? is that possible?

Afaik, Tier 4 day means all events completed (easily doable, if every event chain has people).

For Tier 4 night you have some slack. You still get it if you fail ~5 rally points (out of 15), but do all the bosses (which is easy if ppl communicate on boss hp%).

The hard part is really to distribute the people to defend the 15 rally points, as people tend to clump to zergs/coms. One rally point is easily defended with 4 people, some are also solo defensible, depending on skill/build.

The only special reward I know of is the bladed coat box for T4 night. Got it 5 out of 5 times we reached T4, with participation between 75% and 200%.
