Ok, so I’m currently at level 73. I am soon 80 and I’ve been browsing the web for some ideas around my 80 armor. So I know the ‘Cultural’ armor is crap and waaaay to expensive so I thought I could go with the ‘Order Of Whispers’ faction armor which is cheap and kinda good BEFFORE heading in to Orr with my 260k karma i’m scramming together to buy the Whispering armor.

I’m focusing on condition and power. Is that a bad idea? That is what I’d like to know… At least I’d like to use power and condition with runes with Vitality and Toughness. I don’t know. What do you think? What do you use?

Might ask this in the thief class forum. You might get some help here but this being aimed more at the class its self your fellow thiefs might be better help.

Power is a standard stat for just about every armor. Thief offensive PvE builds are typically precision/crit damage. In total, I carry 4 armor sets on my thief, each focusing a different stat for different uses.

Crit damage/precision
Condition damage/vitality
Toughness
Magic find

The most viable condition damage build is pistol/dagger, which relies on stealth to stack bleeds from the stealth 1 attack. It is more of an SPVP build though. Caltrops pairs pretty well with this, since it’s 10 stacks of bleed on a 24 second cooldown (if you trait recharge on tricks).

Using caltrops/black powder is fairly viable for leveling up to 80 since it does respectable damage, but once you start doing Orr events which are a zergfest, you will probably want to switch out of condition damage and focus power/precision because bleeds will not do enough damage fast enough to tag kills.

Think stacking and skipping trash is cheap?

Frankly, if you intend to buy the karma armor shortly after reaching level 80 and don’t intend to just use its stats, I feel you’d be just wasting coin buying the other armor. If you love the Order of Whispers armor and will transmute better stats into it, then it is different.

You’ll get armor from the Personal Story that will be good enough to use until you have your karma. Besides, you can start replacing what you have piece by piece, if you don’t have all the 260 000 ready.

As for what temple to buy your armor from that I cannot answer as I have never played a thief yet.

Heya guys.

Yeah, I just saw “Players Helping Players” so I thought I post this here. ^^ But ok! I’m at 70k karma atm and I just want a decent armor to use as I collect the karma to buy the whispers armor from Orr.

I use dagger/dagger and pistol/pistol.

First dagger/dagger to stack bleed and condition, steal for might and 1 more initiative to use to stack 3 more blood. Then I swap to pistol/pistol to break the foe’s defense so my fiancee can finish off the foe with her elementalist and I can combo her attacks with putting burn on the foe. At least that is how I play Thief.

But I think I will post this in the other thread. ^^ Thanks anyways!
