Need some tips on leveling
the starter area of the other races is the usual way I believe
Hello thanks for the response. It might be a very silly question, but how does one go to those area’s? I can go to devinity reach, but don’t have the slightest clue how i reach those lower zones for other races. Thanks for the help.
From Divinity’s Reach, you can take the Asura Gate in the center of the city to reach the central hub Lion’s Arch, which has Asura Gates to the other four racial cities (as well as to Southsun Cove, but don’t go there yet).
Alternately, you should have waypoints directly unlocked to the starter zones of the other races now, as a quality-of-life enhancement from a few months back. If you look south-southwest of Kessex, you should have a waypoint in both Caledon Forest (Sylvari) and Metrica Province (Asura). To the east in the snowy area, you’ll have a waypoint in Wayfarer Foothills (Norn), and east of that will be a waypoint in Plains of Ashford (Charr).
Exploring at least one of the other newbie zones should help you be able to better keep up in the level curve. You’ll also get access to new 15-25 zones as well, which should help.
West of Kessex Hills, you will find the Brisban Wildlands, another level 15-25 zone, that you can explore. There’s also the Caledon Forest and the Metrica Province south of Kessex/Brisban that give you even more things to do.
You can also try to work your way west and north from Kessex and Queensdale toward the north-eastern edge of the Gendarran Fields to find the portal to Snowden Drifts (15-25), which again leads to Wayfarer Foothills (1-15) and beyond that the Diessa Plateau (1-15). Just keep to the south of Gendarran and stay near the roads if you’re not yet well into the 20s, since it’s a 25-35 zone.
Once you have access to Lion’s Arch (non-pay-for-free or level 30+ I think) you can use the asura portals that connect LA to all the racial starting cities for a more convenient access to the other starter zones.
Aside from access, you may also want to take another look at your way of playing. Unfogging the map (all of it, waypoints, pois, vistas, hearts, hero points) gives a good chunk of experience, as does harvesting all the ore, logs, and plants you find along the way. Make sure to always have enough gathering tools with you. Food and utility buffs (which you can craft yourself from the materials you gather) also give a small boost to experience gain.
Once you’ve fully completed Queensdale and Kessex, you should actually be way beyond level 18. Check the map and don’t be afraid to go into territory a few levels above your head. As long as you are closer than 5 levels below the enemy you won’t be drastically weaker.
The other starter areas are a good suggestion, but also remember that everything you do in GW2 gives you experience. So literally try everything. Try crafting, explore cities, maybe try PvP if you’re comfortable (you’ll get destroyed at first but maybe you’ll have fun), do jumping puzzles, try activities, and so on. You’ll feel like you level much quicker giving everything a try rather than just doing a single thing.
Are you working on your personal story as well? It did not sound like it from your original post. Doing your personal story will get you some decent exp and useful rewards (if you do them at level). Following the personal story will also help direct you around the entire map.
