Well I have the same processor as the one you are choosing and same amount of ram, I think I get about 70-80 fps pve.
What GPU do you own? i have a GTX 550ti, figured it would be decent enough for just about anything.
Best place for this kinda thread is tech support forum. But no matter. .i patrol this forum also
So with that setup ,so long as your OC that CPU to around the 4.5ghz point, it should not drop below 30fps in even the biggest WvW battles so long as ur GPU keeps up.
You average frame rates in WvW should be around 45fps for mid sized battles.
If u dont WvW then your FPS will still be fine ..infact it will be higher since WvW is the most demanding part of GW2 for the CPU.
Normal LA should be aound 60 FPS give or take.
Seasonal LA can drop down to 30fps thanks to all the extra fluff that gets pushed into the CPU threads >.<
EDIT: 550ti should be fine for a mixture of medium and high settings. keep an eye on usuage and tweek the settings till u rarely hit 99%. make sure u do NOT use supersampling ..or have reflections on All, they both give extreme performance hits.
It will play MWO, I play it myself, but atm the only option that is effective at giving more FPS if ur GPU isnt up to scratch ..is resolution ..which is not ideal i know. With a 550ti MWO will likely strugle at 1080p possibly droping down to below 20 in extreme situations and hovering between 25-35 most of the time.

If you have a decent video card, that will be able to play GW2 on ultra, without dropping below 30fps. I have the same setup and I don’t even overclock my CPU, however I have 2 AMD 6850s. If you want a cheap, but effective video card, go get an AMD 7850 off newegg. Linked http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161426
Remember GW2 is CPU intensive, not so much for the Video Card, you do not need to buy a $500 video card to run GW2 on ultra.
To answer your other question, as to whether this will run Farcry 3, Mechwarrior online, etc. The answer is, it will be able to run all games up to date, easily, and on max settings provided you get a decent video card.

I’m gonna suggest 2 things that others have not:
1) With the ivy chips…the v8 is really not going to do anything a 212+ won’t. That said…212+ can be bought for $15 regularly on sale. I would however suggest replacing the stock pwm that comes with it (it’ll still be cheaper that the evo given you don’t over pay for the fan)
2) Tbh there is no point in getting the 1866 vs 1600 ram….the 1600 is at the point of dr (value/performance) for ddr3.
Together these 2 things will save you $50 that can be spent on upgrading that 550ti, which like others have said is what you need.
I think he already owns the 550ti ..so he cant ‘upgrade’ it for $50.
You points still stand though.

Thnx for all the input guys, is there anything you would suggest i change? as of now i have a corsair CX500W PSU. Will that be enough?
500W will be enough for a 550ti and 3570k at stock.
If u OC the CPU, which i do recommend, u may want to keep an eye on the power usuage of the CPU at full load when ur stability testing. tbh though Ivybridge dont pull that much power so u should be fine.

500w corsair will be plenty for the 550ti and the rest of rig oc’d no worries
Sweet ok, so a few friends of mine said i could potentially OC it to 4Ghz to 4.4Ghz. Is that too much or what? im sorta “New” to the whole build your own PC thing.
