So I’m currently living in Japan and will stay here till September 2016. Unfortunately, I can only play GW2 on my laptop, which is very inconvenient. Today, however, I discovered that my laptop just can’t handle HoT – whenever I enter Maguuma I get like ~8fps (lowest details). I immedietely started searching for a new laptop on amazon, but all the gaming laptops are insanely expensive. I thought maybe it’d be a good idea to get a new PC instead?

Thing is, I’m not particularly wealthy and I don’t think I can spend more than $200 on a new PC for the time being. Can anyone recommend any PC that could handle GW2? I’d like to get at least ~30 fps in Maguuma (medium-high details).

I don’t think you have any chance of that at all. A good graphics card will set you back close to if not over half of that $200. An i5 4690 will probably cost you around $150. Granted I don’t really know $ pricing as I’m from the UK. But just going on things worth £. A 750Ti is around £100-125, 8GB ram £37-40 motherboard £40-50 psu £60+ HDD £40, case £50+ as you can see, £200 for a good pc is a long shot.

You’re barely even going to be able to build a PC for $200, alone get one running at medium-high settings at 30 FPS. You might be able to cobble something together with a C2Q of some sort, decent 5xxx or 4xx series GPU, whatever case it will all fit in, etc but you’d need to have Windows already or acquire a copy somehow.
