Is PvP gear crafted at the Mystic Forge purely for aesthetics? Does higher-quality rank chests only yield ‘cooler’ looking gear? Are there trinkets other than amulets that I can acquire? (In general, is there any way to progress my stats after having allocated my preferred sigils and runes in my starter gear?)

I’m sure I have more questions, but my mind is blank. Thanks in advance.

So as far as stats go, all the sPVP gear is the same, in that you can’t get any higher. They put all the stats that are spread out between armor, weapons and jewelry into just the amulets for pvp to simplify it a little. The pvp crafted gear is just for looks. The idea is, each tier you go up, you can get different skins as a way of showing at a glance what tier you are in, so you know if someone is wearing a particular set they’ve had to have played pvp so much to get it.

So essentially the answer is, no you can’t progress your stats, only your skill.
