New Player Help
I suggest that instead of asking on the forums, you join a guild within your server so they can teach you and possibly help you and make obtaining this gear/gold a much more fun experience. But if you are anti-social and do not want to be in a guild I suggest doing Citadel of Flame and Twilight Arbor, which is both easier to do with a guild.
How much karma do you have? If you were doing your dailies, then you probably are pretty close to having enough for a full set. Doing renown hearts and running with the zerg in WvW will help with getting karma.
I didn’t want to be anti-social, in fact I was planning on starting a guild, I simply wanted to know where to start so that I don’t waste time on an inefficient path.
Edit: I have about 90k karma.
What server are you on? and dungeons is a quick way for gear and weapons.
after 80 start on crafting, map complete then legendaries.

Since all lvl 80 exotic gear has equivalent stats why not decide the build you want and buy/acquire following the above suggestions?
Then locate the skin that you want to display?

Yeh, why even have these ‘pesky’ forrums at all. LEt’s get rid of Players Helping players and just tell everyone to “Ask your guild!”
To answer you’re question, I don’t think there IS a “Best” way. Choose whichever suites you best.
*You can Go to Karma Vendors and spend 42k KArma per armor peice. These vendors are in Cursed Shore/Orr however and Much of the time are unavalible while Legendary NPC’s Camp the locations (need to find/join a Zerg to take them down so you can access your Vendors)
*Gold. If you have plenty of Gold you can always buy from the TP
*Craft. If you get the appropriate Crafts to 400 you can start making your own Gear. I find this very rewarding, but also time consuming as you need a lot of High end materials. You get the flexibility of making the piece with the Stats you want, but the cost in mats is either high in Farming time, or close to or higher then buying the finished item on the TP.
*Dungeons. Dungeon Tokens Can get you a wide varied amount of gear. Obviously it’s time consuming to do multiple runs of Dungeons for each Gear peice, but on the up-side you gain XP, Karma (influence) and Loot from dungeons runs- so you may end up relitivly rich by the end.
Personally I use a combination of all the above.
Happy Hunting.

This is pretty much everything you need to know about your options for gearing up a level 80.

At level 80, the first step I’d take is doing map completion for all of the level 80 or almost-level-80 zones (notably Orr and Frostgorge). The map completion gives you random exotics which might save you the cost of one piece of armor. Even if you don’t get lucky with the stats you want, many of the named exotics are valuable on the TP, giving you more starting cash toward the armor you actually want.
